About this listen

Titan's revolution is coming. All it needs is one final spark.

After decades hunting wanted offworlders throughout the solar system, Corporate Bounty Hunter Malcolm Graves doesn't bother asking questions. So long as the pay is right, he's the man for the job. And he always works alone.

But when a high-profile bombing on Earth has Pervenio Corp clamoring for answers, they force him to team up with a strange, cyber-augmented partner. A young man more interested in statistics than instinct. Their assignment: Track down a suspected group of extremists from Titan who will go to any length to free their moon from the grip of Earth's corporations.

Heading into hostile territory, Malcolm will have to use everything he's learned to stay alive. But he soon realizes the situation on the ground is much more complex than he anticipated...and much more personal.

Experience the epic first entry in the Children of Titan series. If you're a fan of The Expanse, Blade Runner, or Star Wars, you'll love this gritty, space opera thriller from USA Today best-seller Rhett C. Bruno!

“[Rhett C.] Bruno expertly weaves action, capitalism, smuggling, fragile alliances, and revolution around the hard choices of a life-worn man who regrets always following orders.” (Publishers Weekly)

Interesting Space Bounty-Hunter Story

Hi, this is an interesting book and as always RC Bray's performance was flawless.
The only problem is it took to long to get to the meat of the story and you can see where it's going.
I may give book 2 a go 🙄

A slow start

I enjoyed reading this book. It was a good blend of real science and fantasy. This book is definitely worth a read!!

interesting idea, intelligently portrayed.

This book has a similar sort of tone to stuff like the Expanse where the focus is on a more readily attainable version of space travel i.e. not instantaneous travel and almost entirely within the solar system itself, it pairs this setting with a dystopian, corporate-controlled future within which we follow the adventures of a hard-bitten bounty hunter, Malcolm Graves.

The early focus of the book is on a terrorist attack carried out on Earth by Titan separatists, but rapidly expands to include a more complex conspiracy that will occupy subsequent books in the series. There is also an element of the buddy cop genre to this book since the main character is paired up with a new partner who seems almost borg-like in nature.

The narrator is ideal for this book, his tone fits the tone of the main character and he provides suitably distinctive tones for the rest of the cast too.

Overall, an interesting book in its own right and a good starting point to this series too.

Interesting series opener

A great book with twists and turns, brought images of Total Recall to my mind, highly recommended, Bob awesome as usual

Entertaining

RC Bray is up to the usual standard in performing this book. Which is probably why I stuck with it.

The story is OK. An interplanetary agent for a large corporation faces a personal and professional crisis whilst being forced to team up with a cyborg-like partner. Shades of Adam 10,Automan and any other cop budy movie. No real surprises.

Well performed. Mildly interesting

Set some 300 years in a future where Earth survived an asteroid strike and humanity has started to colonise the solar system, while also sending out interstellar colony ships, Titanborn looks at some political and economic issues facing humanity, and the events that follow after a terrorist attack. This one hooked me from the start and took me on a great journey across the solar system while delivering a thoroughly entertaining story. I'll definitely be checking out the sequels.

Interesting, entertaining, and enjoyable

After three decades as a Pervenio Corporation Collector, chasing wanted offworlders and extinguishing protests throughout the solar system, Malcolm Graves doesn't bother asking questions. So long as the pay is right, he's the man for the job. But his latest assignment doesn't afford him that luxury.

A high-profile bombing on Earth has the men who sign Malcolm's paychecks clamoring for answers. They force him to team up with a strange, augmented partner who's more interested in statistics than instinct, and ship them both off to Titan to hunt down a suspected group of extremists: Titanborn rebels who will go to any length to free their home from the tyranny of Earth's corporations.

Heading into hostile territory, Malcolm will have to use everything he's learned to stay alive. But he soon realizes the situation on the ground is much more complex than he anticipated...and much more personal.

While Titanborn at first glance feels very derivative of James S.A. Corey's Expanse series it's actually more a detective noir with sci-fi trappings. I found the characters to be well rounded for the most part and the story intriguing. I'll probably try to get hold of the next book in the series before I make a final decision on it's worth as a whole but I have to say I enjoyed this book and R.C. Bray and his no nonsense gravelly voice were a delight as usual.

Offworlders are only worth the price on their head
