Is falling in love the beginning . . . Or the end?

In Ethan Wate's hometown there lies the darkest of secrets.

There is a girl.

Slowly, she pulled the hood from her head. Green eyes, black hair. Lena Duchannes.

There is a curse.

On the Sixteenth Moon, the Sixteenth Year, the Book will take what it's been promised. And no one can stop it.

In the end, there is a grave.

Lena and Ethan become bound together by a deep, powerful love. But Lena is cursed and on her sixteenth birthday, her fate will be decided.

Ethan never even saw it coming.

An excellent, gripping story from the very first line, beautifully compiled and narrated very well with multiple voices which are very believable to be different characters would highly recommend to any fans of light fantasy such as the twighlight series or hunger games. A light tale of conflicting emotions.

Excellent read

I kept this on my TBR for years. it's completely unexpected how much I actually liked the book. that being said I had some glaring issue with the audiobook, whoever the main characters were in the dream state the words said were inaudible. I could not hear a thing. I needed my physically book for those parts. this was a belimish on an otherwise great audiobook.

I loved this book from start to finish, the narrators voice really clear and good to listen to. I would really recommend.

The story about love is always a good story. There are many surprising situations. There are many lovely characters. And bad as well 😉

Lovely teenage story

I really enjoyed listening to, the voices being made to match the accents of the characters was a nice touch and the music and some sound effects helped add to the mood and immerse in the situation.

It was nice to have it coming from a make point of view and the fact that neither of the main characters were automatically the 'OMG I must date them they're so hot!' types. Although some of the magic still seems a mystery I think there is a reason for this and it will be explained later on. I look forward to the other 3!

Interesting and a little bit different!

Love this book! Heard it many times before, just wish Dangerous Creatures was available for download.

Great audiobook

This was geared towards the Twilight lot, but it was still a good listen. I really like it when it's almost like a radio play and they add sound effects, I find it brings much more of an atmosphere to the ears!

Typical boy meets girl, nobody understands them kind of thing; but added deep South history which made it more interesting.

around 14 mins from the end there's an editing glitch, like something was cut out.

A great audio book.

Excellent book, typical mispronunciation of words, but I guess that’s what happens when you don’t have an English speaker reading!
Apart from this, the book is great!

The reason for ‘Totally Different’ as headline is mainly because I watched the movie first!
Serafine, the school, Larkin to name but a few, are totally different and even the story itself is different - it’s like the movie has essence of the book, but is nowhere near relevant or even the same as it.
I must admits to how ‘different’ and I have to say that had the film been current with the book, I think the box office stats would be telling a different story itself 😊
I was pleasantly surprised by the book. If you can get past the narration/narrator, the story and the book is very good.
Great storyline, characters, humour etc... makes you ever wonder why they changed the story and characters??, why they had the actor playing Ethan speaking in a real southern drawl?? (when it clearly states he was educated and annunciated his words and pronouncing his G’s, not dropping them).
Maybe if the powers that be that made the movie had stuck with the original story, we’d have seen a sequel or four instead of being left high and dry!!

I can’t wait to read the next instalment as the book is far more superior - so don’t be put off by the movie!!

Totally Different!!
