About this listen

Don’t just chase your goals, smash them – with this empowering, action-filled approach…

Paul Mort lives the change he empowers in other people. Now, following on from his audiobook and his sold-out coaching programmes, this new book shows how to break out of your rut, build a happier, healthier life and quit the excuses we tell ourselves. The result? Not just living the life you want, but bringing your best self to your family and friends too.

Paul breaks down big goals and big dreams into actions and mindsets that demolish excuses, negativity and procrastination. In short, punchy chapters, Paul shows how having a strong sense of self and a stable, powerful focus means you can achieve your goals unaffected by other people’s drama, negativity or destructive habits. No BS, no judgements, just support and clarity.

Chapters include:

  • The essence of an electric life – living a supercharged existence
  • You’re just a white belt – how to deal with self-sabotage
  • ‘Great story, bro,’ – the bullshit we tell ourselves
  • How to survive without Social Media
  • We all need something to slay – the need for purpose
  • Sh*t smells but it’s warm – escaping comfort zones
  • Finding a Wolfpack – spending time with like-minded people
  • Nailing your goal to a process
  • Morning routines / Establishing and keeping habits
  • Get rid of the fear of what people think of us
  • Procrastination: how to make taking action easy

Punchy, powerful and positive, the book captures Paul’s trademark no-bullsh*t, no excuses inspiring voice and gives listeners a clear, accountable way of achieving their goals, wherever they’re starting from.

An especially great listen for those people who haven't read many books of this type. Paul uses lots of real life stories and case studies for the listener to relate to. He also lays bare many of his own personal and sometimes embarrassing lessons leant in his own life to paint a clear and often amusing picture in the mind. A bit like 0% Heineken - The author touches places other self help books don't reach. By going deeper into often taboo topics such as depression, anxiety, overwhelm and ways to avoid the modern day curse of time-sapping Social Media. Really enjoyed it.

Bought the book a few months ago, but tidying up my library and I can't return this as I bought it, rather than used a credit. Honestly, I can't remember the book but just elements of my encounter will it - frequent references to the author having hit rock bottom, a suicide attempt being intercepted by his wife then lots of shouty, bragging about how great his life is now. You know when you get cornered at a party by someone who only talks about themselves and if you share, they make it about them too...... yep, pretty much the vibe of this book.

tell me a little more about you, Paul (!)

Will be valuable for some but found it was far more aimed at taking someone from feeling broken/depressed to feeling ok, rather than helping someone go from good to great

For those looking to go from broken to better not good to great
