About this listen
From the author of the phenomenal bestsellers The Keeper of Stories and The Book of Beginnings: an utterly beautiful and uplifting novel.
One year on from the death of her husband, Emma feels no closer to moving forward with her life. Seeking distraction, she quits her job and begins working at the local garden centre.
Here, Emma begins to open up and finds herself attending boss Les’ talk on the Titanic. Intrigued, Emma sets out to research who would have arranged the flowers on-board.
Alongside her story unfolds the tale of a stewardess on the Titanic, who Emma can’t help but feel connected to…
With an array of inspiring and heart-warming characters, this is a novel of friendship, unexpected connections, and of hope.

Beautiful, flowery, fascinating
I liked the two main characters very much.
Emma lives in the present day and is grieving. She begins to research the presence of flowers on The Titanic and this leads her on an emotional, an intellectual and on physical journeys.
Violet lives a hundred years earlier and we learn about her family life and career.
Both women share a love of flowers. They seem to have a connection.
There was a whole array of supporting (and supportive) characters, all well drawn and with their own story arcs.
Places and atmospheres were described in detail and always, the ever present sight and scent of flowers, bring the story to life.
Thank you Sally Page!!

Fascinating story
Beautifully written, this takes an account of floristry to a whole new level. I didn't realise when I started reading that I would find out so much about a ship built in my own country. Don't want to spoil for any other reader. it is mesmerising in the detail. Thank you so much to Sally Page, I have read all of your books, each one is a pure pleasure to read, I find myself eeking them out to prolong the experience 🤣. I have sent the book to my sister who is a horticulturist. We will both draw similarities with Emma and her mother! 💖

Thoroughly enjoyed this book
This is my first audio book and I was not disappointed. The characters were identified with subtle vocal differences which also served as a reminder of their origins within the story. The story weaved interesting Titanic facts within a detective/ research type of storyline. Friendships/ family ties explored with sensitivity and honesty. A drop of romance here and there but still a very grounded and true to life theme . Only taken three days maximum to complete as I was very much hooked. Most enjoyable and definitely worth a read.

What a great mix of personal story (and anguish) and fascinating historical fact. Obviously written with great love of the subject matter. A triumph.
