It's a story about a secret society, a society with great power which isn't always used wisely. This story deals with an arranged marriage between Matteo Cappodano and Winter O’Brien one which Winter tries to flee from but unbeknownst to her, there is no escape. Matteo is a strong and dominant man and he's not willing to let her go. This marriage may have been arranged but once he caught his first sight of Winter he knew she was going to be his no matter what he had to do to keep her safe, even if it means bringing the Sacred Sect Down
The story does have lots of heavy sex and spankings so if that offends you don't listen but the story is so much more than the sex it's intriguing, exciting and does lead to a HEA.
The narration by Thomas Locklear is wonderfully done, his talent is incredible his performance brings each character to life it's hard to realise that all of these distinctive and different voices come from one man!

There are lies and secrets again that swirl around the two main characters as they are thrust into a prearranged marriage that was set up by the controlling members of the sect.
Again we are shown a world full of corruption at all levels and given a storyline full of angst and lust that’s so captivating that you won’t want to put the audiobook down until you are done.
Winter fights the tradition of being given to anyone in an arrangement and tries several times to run away. But Matteo is there to claim her as his own.
I really enjoyed the way this book starts with an attraction between Winter and Matteo when they don’t yet even know who they are to one another. Matteo is a true dominant and I loved his protectiveness of Winter and wow they sizzle together.
Thomas Locklear is the ultimate narrator. He continues to amaze me with all of his various voices that will leave anyone checking to see who all the narrators are and then leave you stumped because it’s all done by just Thomas. Yes the narration is that amazing! If you haven’t yet heard any of Thomas’ work you need to check out all of his audiobooks because you will need to hear all of his works once you have.

If you don't like domiant men and some naughty hot spanking scenes, don't listen. This has it all. Under it all is a love story. A very exciting book.
