Savage Ruler by Kristen Luciani is an enemies to lovers arranged marriage mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Sarah Puckett and Tor Thom. This is the first book in the Sinfully Savage series and can be read as a standalone.

This is the first book of Kristen's that I have read, and it definitely won't be my last. I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I really enjoyed the relationship between Mateo and Heaven. It was messy but you couldn't help but root for them. I loved that we got both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Savage Liar to be released on audio so I can get Sergio and Jaelyn's story.

Sarah and Tor did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like enemies to lovers romances, arranged marriage romances, mafia romances, or romantic suspense.

This is my first book from Kristen and it was amazing . I loved the chemistry between Matteo and Heaven there was no denying what they felt for each other . Matteo went into the marriage with one thing in mind but when he realised he had real feelings for Heaven things got complicated .

I love finding new authors, and ones that write romantic suspense are a huge plus! Kristen Luciani's first book in her Sinfully Savage series is full of twists and turns and includes a wonderful love story that had me from the start. Heaven is an underboss for her family, always looking to prove to her father that she is the one that should take over. Her older brother is a screw up, and though the precedent doesn't allow her to move up, she is determined. Now she finds herself betrayed by her family, with an arranged marriage to none other than Mateo Villani. He is gorgeous, smart and powerful, but hot the man she wants to marry. Knowing he is looking for he ability to take over her family's territory, she is angry and not giving in easily. But temptation is strong and circumstances change. Secrets revealed, and the most unexpected tragedy finds danger imminent. But will either family survive? My attention was captivated by the intricacies of this story. Mateo is smart and alluring, but he has a few faults that may lead to his demise. Heaven is strong willed and fearless. I loved Luciani's writing and the ending has me waiting for book 2!!

Sarah Puckett and Tor Thom are our story tellers and boy do they bring it all. Suspense, thrills and sensuality, this team knows how to bring a good mafia book to life. I loved this pairing and look forward to the next in the series.

I loved the dual narration of Sarah Puckett and Tor Thom, who are perfect for this sinful book.

A mafia romances with tension, betrayal, suspense, loyalty, regrets, arranged marriage. steam, and oh manipulation. Mateo Italian underboss. Declan Mulligan the head of the Irish Mafia comes to him for help.
A deal is made and Mateo and Heaven the daughter of of Declan the head of the Irish Mafia are to be married.
Ohh chemistry between them is instantaneous. Their heat, makes this one very steamy listen.

Savage Ruler is about Mateo and Heaven. Heaven is joint second in command with her brother (honestly he was so eww and such a loser 🤮) in their family’s mafia organisation. After this loser of a brother messes up and puts them all in danger, her father betrays her by signing her away to get married to Mateo. Mateo is a powerful rival mafia leader who has plans of his own to take over their city and part of that plan requires him to have access to Heaven’s family. What better way than to propose marriage to Heaven (or in this case, Heaven’s father).

I came on here cause I feel like I have to defend Heaven; I actually liked her. Some other reviews state how whiny she is, and how her reactions didn’t make sense considering she’s joint second in command in her family’s mafia organisation. However, I actually think her response and reactions to her marriage and everything else going on made sense considering how her family treated who was supposed to be joint second in command. Like how do you arrange a marriage for her without letting her know what’s up and why this needs to happen beforehand? Even if she doesn’t like the situation, I feel as though she would have reacted differently had she at least been prepared and privy to why this match was important beforehand. And also, the fact her idiotic brother was the reason and was out there causing chaos without any repercussions, yeah, I’d go apeshit as well if I was in her shoes.

However, great narration by Sarah Puckett and Tor Thom. Their portrayal of Heaven and Mateo and their personalities was on point! They understood who the characters were and what emotions they were feeling at every moment of the book. Even their portrayal of the side characters was excellent. They helped bring the story to life!

Finished listening to this in less than a day. I completely slacked off for none-and-half hours; it was great. Savage Ruler is a brilliantly written Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance. Mateo and Haven are captivating, fascinating, and multi-dimension characters. Haven Mulligan is the Underboss of the Irish Family, and Mateo is an Italian underworld criminal and a fixer. Mateo is brutal, ruthless, and cunning. He plays the long game and always wins, and Mulligan's position in New York is the objective. Despite all his careful planning and scheming, he hadn't anticipated an undeniable pull to Haven. Haven is the brain behind the Mulligan family's operations; she is beautiful, intelligent, fearless, and loyal. She knows the threat Mateo presents to her family, and despite understanding his nature, she is unequivocally attracted to and tempted by him. The tension between them is palpable, and the chemistry is utterly explosive. Their story is intricate and jam-packed with intrigue, betrayal, drama, passion, scorching hot steam, and passion. The twists and turns were unexpected and intense. The ending was even better. I can wait for the rest of the series. Savage Ruler was so worth the listen.

Phenomenal performances by Sarah Puckett and Tor Thom. They understood the characters and flawlessly portrayed the nuances of their personalities, emotions, and connection. They definitely brought the story to life and made it more engaging. Savage Ruler is entertaining, hot, super engaging, and worth the listen. Kristen Lucian is a terrific storyteller, and I can't wait to read/listen to more of her work.

This is a fantastic start to the “Sinfully Savage Mafia” series, a dark mafia enemies-to-lovers arranged marriage romantic suspense. It is my first book written by Kristen Luciani and I enjoyed her writing style, the story she created is original with interesting storylines that were captivating from start to end. Mateo Villani is looking to make a power play in New York’s mafia world and he is masterminding a plan, a plan that includes marrying Heaven Mulligan, the daughter of the Irish mob boss in New York. He presents his plan to her father, and he buys it and they make an agreement. Heaven’s father made both her and her brother underbosses, but she is the smarter of the two and thinks she is better suited to take her father’s place when he steps down. But he still has that old school mentality of how it is a man’s world and she is not pleased, even less so when she finds out he made a deal with the devil and arranged a marriage for her. Mateo's plan is devious, and he has her right where he wants her, but the one thing he did not take in to account was falling for her. There is never a dull moment in this cleverly plotted story, the world building is fantastic and the drama is non-stop, there is plenty of angst, some twists and turns, thrilling and suspenseful moment that take you to the edge of your seat, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Kristen Luciani, thank you for the great story and emotional rollercoaster ride. 

🎧 📚🎧And for the amazing narration, Sarah Puckett and Tor Thom are the perfect cast to bring these characters and their story to life. They understood the characters they portrayed, giving each character a voice that fit their persona and was believable in every role they played. Puckett nailed it as Heaven, grasping every aspect of her personality, attitude and all. Thom did the same for Mateo, playing the alpha mob boss perfectly. Both were excellent in covering the secondary characters’ roles too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and enjoyable to listen to. Thank you for another fantastic listen.

This is a brilliant book. With ruthless characters that will do anything to get what they want. These main characters are perfect for each other. I love how strong this leading lady is. A fantastic performance from both Sarah and Tor.
