About this listen

Winner Listeners Choice Award - Best Science Fiction

The Martian meets Gravity when Army Pilot Vaughn Singleton, Earth’s last man, rushes to Area 51 in search of a spaceplane after he discovers the last woman is stranded on the International Space Station and barely alive - thus beginning a race against time. The event that wiped life from the planet started at the supercollider. It created a rift in space-time. The astronaut stranded aboard the space station, Commander Angela Brown, is a theoretical physicist who used to work at the collider. She may be able to reverse the event, restoring the timeline and returning all life to the planet...if only she could get there. If you like action-packed audiobooks that leave you sitting in your car long after reaching your destination, you'll love the electrifying action in this trilogy of award-winning thrillers.

Can Vaughn find a path to space and back? Can Angela - the only person capable of reversing humanity's disappearance - survive until he does?

"Like The Martian on (and above) Earth. An epic survival story with very human characters, clever problem-solving and a gripping mystery. The end left me with no idea where Dean was going with the story, I couldn’t wait for the next book.” (Craig Alanson, NYT best-selling author of Expeditionary Force)

"R.C. Bray and Julia Whelan are individually stellar. Having them co-voice Dean M. Cole's superb Dimension Space Series is a stroke of genius. Rich with elements of every genre, Solitude is an outstanding listen.” (Nicholas Sansbury Smith, USA Today best-selling author of Hell Divers)

i really did enjoy the book and the narrators are both excellent but would have liked it more if they worked together and chapter by chapter imitating each others voices

great story

Great story I thought having two narrators easy to except them swapping and reading for both of the people.
Will get the next book.

Really enjoyed it!

Best audiobook I've listened to for ages!
RC Bray and Julia Whelan are fantastic as usual, voicing two characters you really care about.
Finished this in two settings and going straight onto book two of the series! Recommend this book to anyone who loved the Martian.

Absolutely fantastic what a great story this was had me hooked beginning to end then frantically searching for book 2 and found there’s 3 whop whop!

Really enjoyable, I’ve already downloaded every other available book in the series.

My only critic that kept pulling me out of the book was that everything these highly skilled characters did went bad (and potentially deadly) in some way, they didn’t seem to catch a break.

Really good listen

It was a very close thing. I nearly didn’t buy this book after listening to the sample. The sample does not represent the book at all well. The reviewer is trying to give an indication that there are two readers in this book and that works extremely well in the book but not in the sample. The sample is almost incomprehensible as it switches between the two readers. In the book the two readers take a chapter each as there are two plots going on which eventually emerge. Fortunately I did press the buy button and I was not disappointed it is a gripping story. It raises so many questions. I saw one reviewer was disappointed that there was not book 2 but that review is out of date as the sequel to this is available on Audible and has been since the 23rd of April 2019. That is going to be my next listen. It’s an excellent book which I highly recommend. The performance by the two readers is excellent too.

Wow. An on the edge of my seat story

good story, look forward to the next installment.
RC Bray is great ad always though the girls voice is a little tiresome after a while. should have given it all to Bray.

good listen

Having two narrators helped to give some contrast. Not an outlandish story, being strongly tethered to the world we know. My usual sci-fi is a bit more out there and so this felt a bit more like straight fiction rather than science fiction. A good listen with relatable characters. Interested to see how book two shapes up.

A good easy listen
