Sharpe's brutality gets him into trouble with the Duke but his courage and bravery in battle are, once again, his saviours. Another fast-paced and exciting novel brilliantly performed by Rupert Farley.

An excellent and well-read instalment in the Sharpe series. The battle scenes were especially good, being graphic and fast-paced. The atmosphere of war in the Naploeonic era was vividly conveyed.

As always Sharpe does follow a certain formula and I am okay with this. It makes you laugh, it’s entertaining and a good inbetween other books type book. I will be back for more, although not enough Harper in this one but the narration is superb.
