About this listen

A love so forbidden, it would shake the heavens.

My father called them messengers. He once told me they walked among us and that somewhere in this dark and godless city, there shined a faint sliver of hope. I had only to look for the signs.

Well, I’ve spent my whole life investigating the inexplicable and all I've found are the unsettling vestiges of iniquity—the evidence of another world shrouded by the obscure. Purgatory to some, where depravity hides in shadows, and girls like me are little more than delicious bites of temptation. Others call it Nightshade.

This peculiar place is where I first met the cold and callous recluse living in a decaying cliffside cathedral. Jericho Van Croix is the epitome of everything I’ve been told to fear: a raven-winged harbinger who wears intrigue like a warm black cloak, an enigma that I’m determined to unravel—even if it means getting closer than I should.

One touch is forbidden. Even so much as a kiss would be my demise. But the sin on his lips burns me up like a wild flame and his growing infatuation weakens my resolve.

Giving him what he wants, though, will mean no chance for redemption or escape. What's worse is the signs I’ve followed yet failed to see all these years begin to unmask a terrifying reality: Falling may be my only saving grace.

Why Did I Wait So Long?

This has been in my tbr for way too long. Finally started it and oh my god, this book is goated. Diary, the world -building: so many intricacies and layers . The rendered atmosphere is compelling, vast, inescapable pervasive. Lake knows how to set a scene!
The plot is fantastical and no plot holes found. I was drawn in by the piecemeal delivery of the characters' stories.
I mean, just read it. This is romantasy at its best

If I could give this more than 5 stars I absolutely would!

If I could give this more than 5 stars I absolutely would.

Fantastic performances by both Islay and Ryan, bringing Farryn, Jericho, The Baron and Lustina to life. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and absolutely loved listening to it and reliving it again.

Keri just blows me away with every new book having them in audio just takes it to another level.

Nightshade has everything, it’s dark, mysterious, magical, enchanting, soul destroying and I did not want this to end!! It’s complex and pure brilliance.

Jericho and Farryn’s is the Ultimate love story. When love knows no bounds, when it’s all consuming and you are prepared to sacrifice yourself for that one love.

What a journey, this is an intense read. It consumed me. The way Keri has set out the story between the differing worlds and time, is fantastic. Essentially two stories running side by side, from different periods of time, but with so many connections. The more I read, the more amazed I became with what was being uncovered and the possibilities.

It had those moments of “Noooooo!! don’t do it” so many times. With plenty of shocks and smug smirking moments along the way.

I can’t wait for more!!! Bring on Infernium
