About this listen

**As seen on Lorraine**

Sunday Times bestselling author Dr Rangan Chatterjee reveals how to make positive change that actually lasts in his latest, most innovative book to date.

We all have things we rely on going our way to help us feel calm and happy. Your partner waking up in a good mood. No traffic on the way to work. No queues at the supermarket. And no rain on your day off.

But what happens when things don’t work out that way? We fall back on soothing habits. A trip to the cupboard for snacks. Scrolling on social media. A few beers or a couple of glasses of wine after a stressful day.

Make Change that Lasts will show you the nine hidden ways day to day life causes these responses -- and show you how to respond to them consciously. Blending ancient philosophy with a deep understanding of health, host of one of the biggest podcasts on the planet, Feel Better, Live More, Dr Rangan Chatterjee will provide a personalized approach and simple techniques for reducing our reliance on the chaotic and uncertain outside world.

This book will help you to become an expert in yourself - finally unlocking true, long-lasting health and happiness.

'It's super, a lovely, heartfelt book, I really felt it all the way through' Ranvir Singh on Lorraine

Each chapter is organized and summarized well. I really enjoyed the book. I liked that he opened up about his own experiences with grief and love

Some great life advice in this book

A good reminder of things to let go and adapt a live and let live attitude.
I listened to this book in one weekend which was possibly too fast as I did not give enough time for the informative to settle however I thought that a lot of advice was very general and there were not enough suggestions on how to apply the advice especially if bad habits are part of who you are.
I further thought there were too many shoutouts to the podcast. All in all the book was a little too shallow for me and I would have liked more applicable advice and exercises to do to really make change last.

What but not how…

Adversity of Covid 19 left me and my husband without work in the UK (both in the arts). In 2021 we decided to move to France with 3 children (7,7,11) who didn't speak French. I arrived alone while the house was being packed up in the UK and 2 days' later the kids were enrolled in a village school. 4 year's later we are now living here. We sold our house in the UK and bought a house in the South of France. Chattergee's podcast's gave me the motivation and bravery to take on this enormous challenge, So I am already a huge fan of his work . This book is perfectly timed for the new year. I am always so excited to listen to Dr. Chattergee's new book and this one is the best yet! His podcasts are a firm favourite in our house and my children laugh when I say...'I heard this today on Dr. Chattergee's podcast'. My daughter (aged 14) is also a regular listener. His words of wisdom, advice and ability to break down complex information in easily digestible chunks is an incredible skill. This book made me cry. The real-life stories were incredibly touching in particular when you said to your wife you could understand if she came back from a week's trauma therapy and realised being married was not what she wanted any more. Minimal reliance expressed in this book is very original and I have never heard it highlighted in this way. I also cried because it made me realise I am too minimally reliant in life. Factors that I will be embracing in 2025 are ' Embracing discomfort' : My family motto is 'feel the fear and do it anyway'' 'Letting go of the past and Moving on' . Thank you for the incredible work you do.

My Motivation for 2025!

Although I loved the whole but my favourite bit is about not taking offence of things. It's a very different perspective which people don't normally discuss and normally hide under insecure egos.

Real and Honest
