I love the story building in this book. It gives you a gut punch every now and then. And it takes a while to recover. But you will! And the chemistry between the MCs is scorching.

Ashley James blows me away with another wonderful romance novel, a second chance romance like no other. The story drew me in immediately, not only grabbing my attention and captivating it the entire time, but it tugged on my heartstrings, too. I adored the two lead characters, college student Cash DeMarco and Professor Stone Philips. Cash had seen Professor Stone around and he developed a crush on him, but knew he had never stood a chance since he was married. What he does not know is Stone feels that same attraction and when Cash becomes his T.A., the chemistry between them is stronger than ever, and they can only deny each other for so long before giving in. They were planning for more, but the only thing that happened was Stone breaking Cash’s heart. The story jumps to when Cash finishes grad school to become an English professor and took a teaching position in Texas college. To his surprise, Stone is the dean of that college and Cash is not happy to see him again. Stone has a lot to say to Cash, but Cash is not interested, nor does he trust him, afraid if he lets him back in he will only break his heart. I loved how everything played out in this book, the story has a perfect balance of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. The writing, plotting and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. Ashley James, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride. 

🎧📚🎧And for the fantastic narration, Ashely James cast the perfect narrators to bring her characters and story to life. Oliver Highpoint and Silas Hart did an excellent job portraying the characters, giving each a voice that was fitting, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions’ and projected them into their performance, having you feel them all. These wonderfully talented voice artists are entertaining storytellers and they make this fabulous story even more enjoyable. Thank you for another fantastic listen.

This was the most bittersweet second chance romance ever!!

The story was so captivating, raw and beautifully told.

Ashley James literally tore my heart out and managed to put it back together in the end.

Cash and Stone's relationship was hot and cold and such an emotional wrecking roller-coaster of a ride.

I loved their character growth thorough the book and was rooting for their HEA!

Definitely recommend if you like your romance laced with angst and lots of spice!

Kismet is a forbidden, age gap, second chance romance, full of angst and overflowing with steam. Stone is a professor and Cash is an aide for Stone. They have an instant attraction that only grows with time despite the forbidden nature of their relationship. If their academic relationship wasn't enough of a barrier, Stone is also married. Despite all of this, they cannot stay away from one another, and just when it seems they are in the clear to pursue each other freely, everything changes.

This is my first book by the author. Overall I found it engaging as student teacher romances and age gap books are my jam. Having said that, I did feel like there was a little too much spice at times, or I wish it was offset by more relationship building. I also was not a fan of Stone's term of endearment for Cash...at all. There was a lot of angst which I also enjoy at times and despite some of the circumstances that initially brought Cash and Stone together, I truly did want to see them together and happy.

I listened to the audiobook of this story and found it very enjoyable. Oliver Highpoint and Silas Hart are both new narrators to me, but they both were easy to listen to and did a great job bringing this story to life. I loved listening to this book. I so enjoyed the narrators and their performance. The story was well written and very engaging. I was hooked from the first word. The characters came to life with the narrator's performance and really nailed the story for me.

I really enjoyed this story, it was full of angst, heart ache and drama but above all love. I preferred the narrator for Stone's chapters as I found the one for Cash's chapters made Stone sound like he was in his 70s rather than a husky voice as was intended.

A cute but harrowing story of how 2 people came to find each other. With all the naughty student x professor daddy vibes you could want.

This was so raw and beautiful, but also so full of pain, and healing. Their chemistry was off the charts and so hot! It was such a wonderful romance story, and it will be living rent free in my head.
