About this listen

The end of the world has been avoided - for now. With Miri and her team of extracted heroes still on the run, Mother, the disgraced former head of the British Secret Service, has other ideas....

While Mother retreats to her bunker to plot her next move, Miri, Ben, Safa and Harry travel far into the future to ensure that they have prevented the apocalypse. But what they find just doesn't make sense.

London in 2111 is on the brink of annihilation. What's more, the timelines have been twisted. Folded in on each other. It's hard to keep track of who is where. Or, more accurately, who is when.

The clock is ticking for them all. With nothing left to lose but life itself, our heroes must stop Mother - or die trying.

Although I got a little lost with the authors idea of time travel cause and effect, it did not detract from an extremely well written and presented story.
The banter between the main characters is great and lightens the dialogue when needed. The narrator manages to get the timing just right and voices are distinct enough to make it an easy listen.
Well done to all involved. Highly recommended.

Outstanding series

the trilogy seems like it's going nowhere sometimes, concentrating to much on detail, but what you think is squandered, is really just masterful storytelling and a great story with superb characters

an excellent ending

There’s no other word for it apart from brilliant. I’ve just finished my second lesson of this incredible trilogy that I first listened to about four years ago and it still holds up as my favourite time travel story and probably one of my favourite trilogies ever. I have really mixed feelings about it ending, I want more books because I love the characters so much I also really like the way this final book finished. Some stories are wrapped up but there’s still some open. Don’t think about it just listen to it

Hopefully the next book will clear up the timey wimey stuff. I enjoyed it but it still felt a bit rushed at the end

Good, but a little confusing at the end

I love Carl Prekopp's narrations, and discovered this trilogy because I looked for more audio books narrated by him. I did really enjoy this trilogy, but the female characterisation felt inexplicably derogatory and two-dimensional, which did become a bit grating by the end of the third book. I don't mean the women's sexualisation, more that they were portrayed as either capable but stupid, or clever but emotionally cold. Even the male characters who were supposed to be simple and straight forward had more nuance.

Enjoyable, but lazy female characterisation
