4.25/5 I listened to this on audio and thought that Michael did a fantastic job. This was sweet, funny, and had a bit of an angsty section thanks to a stellar lack of communication about one major issue, lol. (Shall we just say that protection is always a smart idea, especially if you’re dealing with a new species?) Al is literal, funny, and very sweet. Jude is kind, rolls with the whole alien thing, and needs to work on his self-esteem. His roommate Ezra is hilarious and awesome. This had definite ET vibes (no matter what Al says about accuracy), but for college-aged adults. It’s honestly pretty “slice of life”, just with an alien thrown in.

I was really glad once they started working past their issues and did a better job of supporting and caring for one another. (I’m torn between really not having expected that amount of angst given the rest of the book and also sort of thinking it appropriate given the seriousness of what happened without everyone realising. I’m all about bodily autonomy, but I also see why it seemed like consent had been given.) I’m very grateful for Kyle and the tidy ending.

Looking forward to more in this series (though I don’t like Al’s brother so far, lol).

This was a delightful story! The writing was excellent and Michael Ferraiuolo's performance was wonderful. I literally LOL'd more than once. The blurb tells you everything you need to know about the story. I'm just going to say if you like your romance with spice and a side of wacky humor you should love this book. I also enjoyed the original music by Michael Ferraiuolo.

Totally unexpectedly delightful. I actually picked this up as an audiobook because of the narrator - that man could read the dictionary and I'd be enthralled, and I was expecting a light, fluffy silly alien romance with a smattering of suprise Mpreg. Well it's all that, but so much more - the fun and silly storyline merges somewhere into something deeper, more emotionally complex, in a way so rarely done in books with characters from wildly different worlds (either literally or figuratively), diving into possibly a more realistic human reaction to finding themselves in such an earth-shatteringly unique position, so much so that I got really REALLY upset with one of the characters (no spoilers!) as the relationship between human Jude and himbo alien 'Al' developed and I actually thought my heart was breaking at some point. The silliness (largely manifesting in the way Al chooses to interpret and communicate with the world) continues throughout, kept me giggling to the end though. Recommended!

Everything about this is perfect - the characters, the plot, the spice, the humour, and the audio! Always excited for a Piper Scott book, and Renee Fox was an excellent addition! I loved this book when i read it, and i love it even more on audio. Michael Ferraiuolo is my absolute favourite audio artist and he suited the humour of this book perfectly.

This was an easy romp most of the time, even if I cried a little too. The linguistic and cultural misunderstandings were hilarious, and Als frustration with the English language is shared by a lot of humans. I was pleased to realise there will be another book, hope it comes soon!

A fun, entertaining read which definitely put a smile on my face.

Al was sweet, unique and simply adorable. Jude surprisingly, took things quite well - personally I would have freaked out like crazy lol.

The narrator’s performance was absolutely amazing!

Okay, so Jude’s just an ordinary college student studying fine art who’s a huge disappointment to his parents. His car barely works, he’s got student loans, and his life is…dull.

Then he’s nearly taken out by a flying spaceship crash landing to earth.

Yeah, okay.

The story that flowed from that incident was fun, touching, and weird. Weird because, well, alien. Fun because, well, alien learning all the weird things humans do. Touching because, despite everything, Jude and Al kind of fall in love. But their situation is impossible, right? Because Jude has to stay on earth and Al has to go home.

Anyway, throw in crazy roommates and friends, disapproving parents, and the fun thing I won’t mention because I don’t want to spoil the story (although it’s a Piper Scott romance, so I wasn’t surprised), and the book was actually pretty damn good.

Several other characters are now set up for future books and I can’t wait.

Kudos to Michael Ferraiuolo for pronouncing Al’s real name. I liked the clever thing he did with his voice. Michael always does an amazing job with Piper’s book at this was no exception. Great story and can’t wait for more.

Almost all of those 5 stars are for Al. The whole fish out of water thing was done so well. Al's problems with time were funny. His rants too on the English language, which fair, is actually nonsensical, and I say that as a native speaker!

Jude was also great. Very easy going and accepting, until he hit his breaking point. Honestly, he bugged me for a while, mostly because he was hurting Al, who I felt protective over. But I thought about it and his reaction was valid. He had this fascinating alien man saying he was his mate, and he was pregnant, Jude didn't feel worthy of that. So I forgive him for the little angst he caused.

I am totally up for an entire series of these aliens finding love on earth!

The narration, as always, was perfect. So easy to listen to.

This started out just so cute and hilarious and then sucker punched me right in the feelings. There was quite a bit of relationship angst and I enjoyed the heck out of it. Al must be protected at all costs and is my absolute favorite type of character. I cannot wait until the next book! And while I've long been a Piper Scott superfan, I'm so excited to see more from Renee Fox! Michael Ferraiuolo is the perfect pair to these books as he gives so much life to the characters and lets all the quirks and idiosyncrasies fully shine! Plus, the sound effects and alien language are top notch.
