Great story line with love & action, great combination. enjoyed listening to the back story of the characters too to give the insight of how the became hardened to the surrounding.

What a fantastic and refreshing take on the apocalypse. A found this per chance in my social media feed and thought here we go again! Just another hyped up 'MUST READ NOVEL' blah blah. How pleasantly suprised I was when I gave it a chance. You are thrown straight into a story which captivates from the start. The Author seems to have grasped all the great elements from every apocalyptic scenario and developed a plot that sends you on a grand adventure. At no point are you left feeling bored and stagnant. The character development and the subsequent journey of right and wrong is at every corner. You feel as though you are part of that journey with the main characters. There are some pretty despicable people in these books and it really is a story of good vs Evil. The narration is superb and it feels like each character is read by a different narrator. Being British I did find the English characters a little query. however, the overall narration is on point. If you ever wanted to know what would have happened to the characters of Red Dawn..this is one for you! Fantastic read..ready for the next set of books. if you have a credit to use, spend it on this. its a massive listen for the buck!

FANTASTIC story line and characters. This 1st book is great …. Well written and awesome characters… I’m so invested and can’t wait to listen to the rest of the series … the narrator is doing a fantastic job and has a great voice to listen too , absolutely brilliant

still wondering what happened to all the farm animals in book 4, chapter 24, when everyone left the first home in the valley, and why they didn't come with the people who fled..?.. also I had a hard time imagining the whole setup, more than one thing stood up as either lack of knowledge or simply laziness from the writer, as a lot of things seemed to just magically solve itself. But it was also interesting following the group and their progress along the way.
