Get the first three audiobooks in the acclaimed apocalyptic thriller series plus the prequel novella!
"One of the best apocalyptic series of the year! Unputdownable!" (Book Riot)
In the dead of winter, an EMP attack destroys the U.S. power grid.
No electricity. No cars or phones. The country is plunged into instant chaos.
But for Hannah Sheridan, it's the best day of her life. For the last five years, she's been the captive of a sadistic psychopath—until the EMP releases the lock of her prison.
Battered but not broken, she emerges from her underground cell into a hostile winter wilderness with nothing but her determination to survive.
Reclusive ex-soldier Liam Coleman is headed nowhere fast. He believed he was prepared for any disaster, until the EMP took everything he'd ever cared about in a matter of seconds.
Two hundred frozen, perilous miles stand between them and their destination in rural Michigan. But the killing cold isn't the only threat, for Hannah's captor isn't about to let her go...When the country goes dark, ordinary people find themselves facing the end of the world as they know it. With society collapsing before their eyes, they'll have to risk everything to protect their home and the people they love.

Yes as a other reviewer says, the story jumps between main characters but I feel it actually with a well and I’m jut always a fan of this style of writing.

27.5 hours of audio and were less than 2 weeks into the EMP..... With 3 books. Book 4 does seem like it would pick things up. But the third book dragged. Also, the author loves to over-express the current mental state/ feelings of the 4 POVs we get and the internal dilemmas they are having. Well, maybe not all 4 since Hannah has a right to be conflicted and worried all the time and to be fair to Liam he just gets on with things even though he feels terrible.
BUT NOAH and Quinn my god, I liked Noah in book two but by the time book 3 closes out, I'm mixed on him. The shootout at the roadblock with Noah and Co in the third book was dumb. The authur does well with Liam's fighting scenes, but when anyone else tries to fight the universe becomes incompetent. The logic of why the people opened fire on Noahs car was dumb.
Quinn is a good character but she is given far too much air time in the books. When we have 2 POVs on the run and giving birth and Noah trying to hold the town together. But we stay with Quinn for so much of the book just babysitting Milo.
Also, the whole Pike thing goes on for too long, Both sides have some good plot amour.
Overall is it worth a credit? yes did I feel like my time was wasted? No. Do I want to get the next book right away? no not really. Will I be moving this series to the might-finish pile? yes.
Book 1 was great, book 2 and 3 slowed right down.
