Stuck under a mountain of debt, Ike can only dream of the world of hunters. Ranks, power, and the System are out of his reach, until the day he awakens a Unique skill. Ike must break out of the slums and overturn the hierarchy of the System to fulfil his dream of becoming the ultimate hunter. Harvesting the skills of monsters, he turns against the world's logic.

He doesn't want to destroy the world. Problem is, he's an Apocalypse. Zeke and his friends are enjoying the city when suddenly, the apocalypse begins. Which one? ALL OF THEM. Lucky (or unlucky) enough to be chosen as an apocalypse himself, Zeke sets off to [Devour] his way to the top! It wouldn't be so bad, but his best friend's out to kill him, that rock has a gun, and everything, literally everything, has gone to hell. Zeke just came out here to have a good time, and honestly, he's feeling so attacked right now.

Zeke's finally beaten and/or Subordinated all the other Apocalypses in his city. You'd think a winner would be due a hero's welcome, or at least a good night sleep. Instead, he's greeted with a grim sight—other Apocalyptic domes opening all around him. There's no time to spare. With every passing moment, all the competing Apocalypses grow stronger and firm up their defenses. It's Zeke's turn to go on the offense as he strikes out of his city and takes on all the other Apocalypses out there.

Faced with an ultimatum from a mysterious coalition of Apocalypses, Zeke and the crew are given a grim choice: submit, or die. Never one to roll over and give up, Zeke chooses the hard route. The only Apocalypses left are powerhouses who won not only their city but also the territorial battles afterwards. To the last, they're horrific monstrosities with the worst at heart.
