On Thursday, January 11th, 2018, behind a closed-doors meeting, our President Donald J. Trump made a comment on immigrants coming from Haiti and African nations as people from “shithole countries”. For years, African countries have been referred to as developing countries, the Dark Continent, peripheral, Banana Republics, third-world nations, and so many other words. This terminology has been used from grade school to universities, and this terminology has been designed by Westerners to group these countries into one box, and to deny them certain privileges and/or rights.

This book is not about who would make a better leader, or rather who had better policies. It is all about winning and losing. What one candidate did to win and what another did to lose election is the central part of the analysis of the book. This is what Niccolo Machiavelli expresses as “The ends justify the means”. I know politics has become the most controversial topic everywhere. Some people even fight; beat each other because of politics and politicians.

Imperialism has been seen as the highest stage of capitalism. But what we are now witnessing around the world is the upgraded imperialism, which I call Imperialism 2.0. African countries were hoping to "develop" soon after colonialism. But with Imperialism 2.0, Africa is still under new colonialism. This book, Imperialism 2.0, answers the question of why Africa continues to be poor and colonized. The book goes further to provide what should be done to end it and develop a strong independent economy.
