Representation In The Arts and Media With Cassa Pancho

  • Summary

  • In this episode Myles Hart sits with CEO founder and artistic director of Ballet Black Cassa Pancho to discuss the representation in arts and media.

They discuss the beginnings and current focus of Ballet Black and what it means to young ethnic dancers and the struggles faced within the arts surrounding being non white.

Representation impacts the psyche immensely and can have a direct repercussion on the trajectory on ones lives and opportunities they see possible. The mental health aspect is also key, and they focus how changes can be and are being made by allies within media and the arts.

This short series aims to continue necessary conversations to not only education but inspire changes that can benefit the black community. We are raising money for Black Minds Matter UK that offer free mental health services including 12 weeks of free therapy to black families and individuals in need. Please click the link to donate.
