About this listen

Gotrek & Felix Book 12

The forces of the dead close in, commanded by the infamous Lichemaster, forcing Gotrek and Felix to take refuge in an ancient castle. But as the undead lay siege to the fortress, doom seems close at hand...

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

It's a good old-fashioned siege story starring Gotrek and Felix, with waves of zombies battering against the defences of an ancient castle while mysterious events and deadly rivalries threaten destruction from within…

THE STORY

Gotrek and Felix: unsung heroes of the Empire, or nothing more than common thieves and murderers? The truth perhaps lies somewhere in between, and depends entirely upon whom you ask…

Pursued by the dark forces of the necromancer Heinrich Kemmler, Gotrek and Felix arrive at Castle Reikgard, where they must hold out against the zombie hordes. The brutality of the siege is unremitting as wave after wave of horrific creatures, led by the undead champion Krell, attempt to take the walls. With supplies running low and morale sinking, the defenders begin to hear terrible whispers and endure awful nightmares. Suspicion and paranoia run rampant within the castle walls, and the defence seems impossible.

Can Gotrek and Felix hold out against Kemmler's ever-growing legion until help arrives, or will the Slayer find his doom amidst the unrelenting undead?

author clearly knows and loved original Troll Slayer series by William King and is a worthy successor

excellent narration and well written story. recommended listening for fans of the original books. unfortunately ends on somthing of a cliff hanger since the following books are by a new author who disregarded Nathan Long books 8n terms of continuity

Excellent Narration As Always

Really enjoy the wider fantasy lore being brought in. The story overall is good but confusing in parts with so so many characters. In addition I feel like Gotrek had moments where he acted wildly out of character

Possibly the best Nathan Long Slayer book

I thoroughly enjoyed this, sadly it’s the last really good book in the series ss this is the last by Nathan Long who's books are surprisingly good even if not at the level of the original author William King. This book happens almost fully in one location so it doesn't have that fun and interesting traveling around the Old World as many of the others do, but even with that it's a really great listen.

Cannot believe these are still getting better

I have just listened to this straight after Shaman slayer which is again one of the best in the series.

Gotten and felix are a saga that does not get the recognition it deserves. It’s simply brilliant entertainment and the characters that have built over time really do hold dear to the reader.

Can’t recommend this series enough

an other thrilling epic tale added to the series and so soon since the last I almost feel spoiled.

I do however have one concern. knowing that the last two books of series have been already been out will we get an updated version, not the kebble voice work isn't spectacular, you can just feel how devolped the characters are in comparison too the last two books and it would be an fitting ending to a beloved series.

Yet Again another Great Book

I feel like with this one they really got a sense of danger, and although I couldn't fault this audiobook and the always amazing line delivery of Mr Keeble, I can't help but feel worried about the future of this series. From what I've heard before from other reviews events in the last four books are not continued which is a real shame...but for what I've experienced, 13 books of pure Warhammer Bliss I can't fault them...
