About this listen

A Siege of Terra Anthology

Horus is dead. His Heresy is over. The scars of mankind’s great schism will never fully heal. For those left behind, a new Era of Ruin is dawning, promising both new beginnings and fresh peril for an Imperium riven by trauma and war.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

This is the final instalment of the Horus Heresy – but that was just the beginning of a much darker tale which will be 10,000 years in the telling. These short stories show us glimpses of the stories that spun out of the Siege of Terra as the fledgling Imperium put together the pieces after the galaxy-shattering destruction, and those who fought on both sides, as they try to move on from the unthinkable events of the bloody conflict.

THE STORY

In Chris Wraight’s Homebound, Ilya Ravallion must choose between the decimated White Scars and living out what remains of her life in peace. An embattled Ahzek Ahriman must race against time to learn what he can of the warp before its gates close to him forever in Ex Libris by John French.

Featuring tales from Dan Abnett, Aaron Dembski-Bowden, Guy Haley and many more, this anthology follows mighty Custodians, scheming sorcerers, and the lowly footsoldiers of the Imperial Army as all negotiate the devastating aftermath of Humanity's greatest reckoning.

Messy mix of stories and the one title I was looking forward to (Dan Abnett) was read by some jordie chick who’s performance was abysmal with a very off putting accent , can we just leave all of the reading to Johnathan keeble Toby longworth from now on plz. What a let down. And where the hell is the third part of the bequin trilogy!!!

Poor narrators and lacklustre ending for this epic

The last 3 stories were particularly magnificent and covered the characters I was most curious about. Overall, good book but could have been better if some authors were allowed more space imo.

Good but has some drawbacks.

Not the sendoff to the seige of terra i was hoping for. A few alright stories arguably hampered by voice actors that could easily be confused for AI (especially the female)
i was quite disappointed overall. that being said homecoming was good, and the carrion lord of the imperium was fantastic! keeble should have narrated the whole thing in my opinion. describing the other two voice actors as bad wouldn't be fair to them... but they were definitely... incorrect.
i dont really know what i was expecting, but that wasn't it.

redeemed by adb and keeble

Jonathan keeble should narrated the whole thing (except the sister of silence)
listened to the whole seige of terra with keeble doing the voices only to have their possibly final stories voiced by someone else was a let down.
expected so much from this and feel it didn't live up to any of the other books.

disappointed

And by that I mean started with Horus Rising and finally the heresy/seige tale is told, this book should have been one that all readers could have achieved closure, instead it’s a mismatched anthology, Chris Wraight,ADB and Dan gave some succour but the rest was poor, also the narrators were badly matched to the tales they told, I really enjoy Colleen with her Minka Lensk stories but not a silent sister or white scars, Shogo was superb with the Carchardon but didn’t enliven the stories here, Mr Keeble is as always superlative and the carrion king story is by far my favourite

Started with a band ended with a whimper

The Siege of terra series was an epic tale of the final furious and glorious defence of Terra. This anthology was, in my opinion a great let down for the series. Not a single story I feel has the relisten potential of the others such as saturnine.

An anthology of anti climax

I loved almost all of this except for the story "Homecoming", the voice acting was beyond wrong and absolutely ruined such an amazing story.

Illuminating
