It’s all but imperceptible, but present nonetheless; a change in the air or a shift in her perceptions.

The prose is really strange shifting from the first person to the third in the same paragraph. That meant it took a while to realise that Anna and Ciara's mum weren't two different people. The narrator is terrible. She can't pronounce a lot of the words including wolves, pasties and Edinburgh. There's an L in wolves that she repeatedly misses. The editing is dire sometimes part and whole sentences are repeated up to four times. Not in places were it would make sense for dramatic effect or a quirk of someone's speach pattern. The story was a weak ramble interspersed with some truly awesome descriptions of scenes and places. There was a lot of promise with this book so I am keen to see what else the author produces over time.
