About this listen

From breakout TikTok sensation Jeneane O'Riley comes the highly anticipated third book in the Infatuated Fae series, full of forbidden romance, twisty betrayals, and fairy tale magic.

"Maybe I want to be everything to you… your hero and your villain."

Trapped in the In-Between, Caly, Mendax, and Aurelius are fighting for their lives―they just don't know whose.

Caly's bond to Mendax from their bonding ceremony and her mortality being tied to Aurelius's from when he saved her life mean the three of them have tangled their life forces together. And now that they know maintaining both connections is against the natural order of things, one of them must be sacrificed for the other two.

Caly can't let another one of her loved ones die, but she also needs to answer the summons so she can finally meet her father. Then, perhaps, she can be sent to the Elysian Fields to be with her mother and sister. But her father has information that could change everything―and even if she's ready to sacrifice herself, she'll have to get through the Seelie Prince and the Unseelie Prince to do so, while also keeping them from killing each other.

Book 1 was great. But throughout the whole second and third book something feels so very off. And I figure it’s the fact that Callie spend the entire time planning to off herself. It makes the love between her and M not feel real. Like she doesn’t actually care that much. There’s never really any conflicted feelings she has one goal the entire time. Like, what? She (the narrator) also sounds so inappropriately positive all the time. It doesn’t fit with the story. The lack of side characters also makes the story feel isolated. The romance in this story is not epic enough, but the overall story is pretty good and certainly allows for it to be so that’s where this book is lacking.

I liked the first book, the second was more or less acceptable, but the third is a colossal disappointment. The love triangle is absolutely pointless and Eli is slowly reduced from a great love to a sacrificial lamb so that one of the most unpleasant main characters I have ever encountered (Caly) can have a happy ending with her insane lover who belongs in prison. I find this love story offensive to all women who have been victims of physical and mental domestic abuse.

Disappointment
