The author provides well-researched methods to recover from trauma by utilizing EMDR therapy techniques, preferably with assistance by a trained therapist. Trauma can affect so many aspects of our lives so it's good to know there are ways to help our brains recover and view the events with less pain and emotional response.
The author also provides excellent techniques to access the vagus nerve to help us better understand our bodies and the natural responses we have to stress. I found myself more relaxes after completing a few of the simple breathing exercises described. This was also the encouragement i needed to get myself moving throughout the day since my remote job has me stuck to a chair for hours at a time.
I've recommended this book to family members who also struggle with carrying around stress day-to-day and look forward to utilizing more of the exercises in the next few weeks.!
