About this listen
Lexi is a survivor; she has spent her whole life moving from one abusive foster home to the next, until she decided to take charge of her own life. Living in abandoned buildings, couch surfing, and working at a strip clubs were a huge improvement on what she had before. All she needs is enough money to feed herself, finish high school, and hopefully go to college.
She has a plan. That is until she is caught and sent to live with a strange foster family upstate.
Rafferty King was forced like Lexi to this new foster home, but he fits in better. And that's saying something for a total misfit. Hot as hell and getting into fights, while ignoring her existence. Whatever.
Then there are the twins Ranger and Maverick, also known as "The joker and The Loner". They know who she is and give her the new-girl treatment with which she is all too familiar.
And how can a history teacher look that hot? There should be rules against that kind of thing. But there is something about Galen Donovani that has Lexi feeling safe when he is near. While everyone else avoids him.
What the hell is going on in the state of Washington? And why are there so many wolves roaming at Port Willow High?

I love RH, however in this one, I think Raf would've sufficed.
Because of how the author set the RH up, it wasn't that convincing IMO, also as every single male she encounters desires her, it really dilutes the whole fated mates thing the author was going for.
Ranger was insufferable, the Maverick love connection kinda came out of thin air. Galen is not only centuries old, he's also her teacher & she's still underage, so kinda icky.
She's a few months shy of being 18 & nothing really happens between her & Galen, in this book at least, but the intent is there.
As every single other male goes nuts as soon as they scent her & Lexi finds them all attractive, it was kinda hard to figure out what was so different about her "chosen mates".
However, all the boys were different from one another & I did like that we also got their POV.

I thought both narrators were good, but the male had a vast array of voices in his arsenal.👏 I enjoyed what they did.😃
Two 17 year olds are caught and taken into care but in a new place. Raff is covered in bruises and tattoos. He's clearly had it rough. Lexi has run from every home she's been placed in since her parents died. She's been in a lot of awful situations in her short life. They're drawn together!
The new high school is weirding Lexi out. The guys are all following her around, and some are sniffing her!😳
What will she learn about the hot history teacher, her new friend Raff, and twin brothers Ranger and Maverick?🤔
A good cliffhanger ending. I hope the actual 'story' speeds up in book 2, though.🤞

The vampire teacher perving after her was the nail in the coffin. What on earth does a 300-year-old vampire have in common with a 17 yr old child. Plus, teacher/student relationships are not hot when the student is not an adult, the power dynamic is all wrong, and frankly, it’s gross.
Godawful trash
