One of the things I love about Tessa’s books is her ability to draw you in with a group of characters you can instantly connect with.
Leighton is the kind of FMC you can be a little frustrated by but given everything she’s been through she’s allowed to be a little damaged. There is some fantastic room for growth in her character and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
Then there is our boys…Colt walked in and I knew we were on to a winner 🥵. Each of the MMCs already has distinct characteristics and I’m excited to see what comes next. I have a feeling I’m going to love Trace, I’m a sucker for an enemies to lovers 😂
As is usual for Tessa’s books we’ve been treated to a cliffhanger but I wouldn’t expect anything else! I tend to devour each of her books in 24hrs so I’m sure I’ll be able to review book 2 soon 🙈
The narration was brilliant, you can really hear each distinct characters personality and I love that in an audio.

We get introduced to the guys and their world slowly (very slowly) to the point where we get frustrated along with Leighton about all the secrets and deceit. Colt - the best friend from her childhood. Dash - the sweet and kind one. Declan - the understanding one - my favourite. Ronan - the protective one. Trace - the grumpy one.
Leighton is the type of heroine to run away when she’s overwhelmed. While people may be frustrated with this, I actually applaud Tessa Hale for being so reflective and intentional or not shows people it’s ok to not be strong all the time.
Vanessa Moyen is a new to me narrator. She did a brilliant job of delivering Leighton’s emotions and bringing the story to life.

Vanessa Moyen is a new to me narrator but she provided a great portrayal of the teenage Tessa bringing this book to life and making for an enjoyable listening experience on my daily commute. Definitely a narrator I’d have no hesitation listening to in future should the opportunity arise.
