About this listen

In the next installment of the global bestselling Throne of Glass series, follow Chaol on his sweeping journey to a distant empire.

Chaol Westfall has always defined himself by his unwavering loyalty, his strength, and his position as the captain of the Guard. But all of that has changed since the glass castle shattered, since his men were slaughtered, since the king of Adarlan spared him from a killing blow, but left his body broken.

His only shot at recovery lies with the legendary healers of the Torre Cesme in Antica - the stronghold of the southern continent's mighty empire. And with war looming over Dorian and Aelin back home, their survival might lie with Chaol and Nesryn convincing its rulers to ally with them.

But what they discover in Antica will change them both - and be more vital to saving Erilea than they could have imagined.

Fantastic story

I wasn’t sure at first if I wanted to read Chaol’s story but I’m glad I did as it was very enjoyable. There are a host of new characters as it’s set in a new location which were pretty much likeable. One will turn out to be an important character in the next/final book. Things happen in the final third of the book which you will need to know going into the last book so I’d recommend reading/listening to this. Finally Elizabeth Evans is brilliant, made the story more engrossing as she did a fantastic job.

Stick with it!

With reading the recent reviews of this book i really did not want to listen to it, being left on a cliffhanger with the last book i just wanted to get the info from this book and jump straight in to the final book. But i did decide to listen to this and i am glad that it did.

Although it's a very slow start going from the previous book, it does pick up and I'd say the second half of this is so worth the listen with the additional characters that this book brings and how it ties loose ends from previous books together.

Amazing

Thrilling, breathtaking, amazing story. At the same time it is a heartbreaking close-up of a man with a broken back and his long journey to piecing himself together, physically and mentally😭😭😭

I love Sahara J Mass but…

I’m not a fan of Chaol and having an entire book about it was painful at the start. Great story arc though and it definitely picks up in the middle. I think my review is a bit biased because I don’t like Chaol

Slow build but good, good twists and important for whole series but Empire was better

As above, was great, great parts and surprises but after empire of storms. It’s good not great, but recommend buying both and doing the tandem read or listen, chapter guide is online
