About this listen
Beatrix Potter's amazing universe of animals dressed in human clothing has taught and entertained children for over a century. This volume brings together 21 of Potter's tales and verses in one audiobook. Hear Peter Rabbit outwit old Mr. McGregor, and Squirrel Nutkin come within a tail's length of being an owl's dinner. Listen as a family of mice save the kind tailor of Gloucester, and as Peter and Benjamin Bunny battle a barn cat. Learn how one fierce rabbit is set on the road to honesty. Although each story stands on its own, several are linked together by events and characters.
Public Domain (P)2014 TantorCritic reviews
"Be charmed as virtuoso narrator Katherine Kellgren shares 22 classic adventures of Peter Rabbit, Squirrel Nutkin, Benjamin Bunny, Mr. Jeremy Fisher, Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle, and more.... Narrating these stories, Kellgren sounds eminently British and appropriately old-fashioned. ("The Tale of Peter Rabbit" was first published in 1902.) Don't mistake old-fashioned for slow, however; her narration is vigorous and fast paced, filled with character accents and songs and even the very authentic-sounding chitters of a squirrel and meows of an angry cat. Good fun." ( AudioFile)
