About this listen
The final battle begins.
The Xaros Masters destroyed Bastion, the Alliance against the alien invaders has failed. Earth stands against the full force of the enemy's unending drone fleets.
With their backs against the wall, Captain Valdar and the Breitenfeld must lead a last ditch mission to end the war against the Xaros.
Can humanity pay the price for ultimate victory?

I have one criticism and that is how religion is portrayed in this series. It is clear that the author Richard Fox has clearly made Christianity the de facto good religion for both the characters in the book but humanity as a whole. The only other religion discussed for humanity is Islam and that was only in the context of how a ISIS caliphate conquered Europe for a time ( introducing draconian laws and oppression) until a literal crusade retook Europe. This to me was very jingoistic to sum up an entire religion's representation that way. The rise of some sort of Islamic boogie man in Europe and a series of wars with China (having taken place before the first book) where China committed numerous war crimes speaks of a very America centered view in world politics ( though this is not surprising for a West Point graduate in the author Richard Fox).
I know the bulk of my review has been focused on the negative but as this is the final book in the series I wanted to take the time to air that one but complex criticism.
Honestly loved this series and have been enjoying the Terran Armor Corps series as well. I am looking forward to reading more books set in the Ember War universe ( I haven't started any of the Terra Nova series yet) but I would like to see a bit more nuance given to humanity and society.and yes religion.
An excellent end to a great series
