About this listen

When Mole goes boating with Ratty instead of doing his spring-cleaning, he discovers a whole new world. As well as adventures on the river and in the Wild Wood, there are high jinks on the open road with that reckless ruffian Mr Toad of Toad Hall.

Ratty, Mole, Badger, and Toad become the firmest of friends, but after Toad's latest escapade, can they join together and beat the wretched weasels once and for all?

An old favourite of mine since I was little and still a joy to listen to

Even after nearly 115 years, The Wind in the Willows is still a great piece of literature.

Though mostly for children, adults can appreciate the writing of the story of friendship and just a simple pleasant countryside tale with well written characters.

This is further enhanced by solid performances all around from the cast and the late June Whitfield’s narration.

Listening to this again was a treat indeed after many years. Worth checking out.
