About this listen

I am Mackenzie Country born and bred. Farming the high country runs in my blood, like my father, and his father, and my great grandfather before him. My future has been mapped out for me since the day I was born. Or at least it was, until Liam Skelton walks onto Lane Station, lights a fire in my heart, and turns my whole world upside down.

Bossy, tatted, and out and proud, Liam is everything my father abhors.

And I want him.

Badly.

But having a chance with Liam means risking everything. My family. My future. And my life in these mountains that I love. Still, the heart wants what it wants, and mine wants Liam.

With so many things against us, maybe we don't have a chance.

Maybe we'll crash and burn.

Or maybe we’ll find a way to have it all.

Fabulous series

This author knows how to tug at my heartstrings. Her writing is so heartfelt and real that it’s difficult to believe and remember that her characters don’t actually live and breathe.

The Science of Attraction is the third in a four book series about the fabulous men and their loves living and working in the Mackenzie. Jay Hogan has drawn such a wonderful picture (through her extensive research and by actually visiting sheep stations), of the families and men who work this hard rugged, land; so much so that even the dogs and sheep have personalities of their own.

Jay hogan’s beautiful, romantic stories are amongst the best I’ve ever read. She can make my toes tingle and I look forward to each and every book she release with anticipation. The interaction she creates between, not only her two MC’s, but also between previous characters (I love how she creates this familial feeling in all her books), who are all still very prominent in each and every book in the series - is second to none. Even her secondary characters have become ‘friends’ and I love hearing how they’re all doing.

The author’s choice of narrator is also very special, and is absolutely perfect for her particular style of writing and especially her humour. I doubt there is another narrator/performer who could have tackled the very difficult Paddy Lane in The Science of Attraction. His speech difficulties caused by a stroke are so well done by Gary Furlong that I struggled along with Paddy. But that aside, just the sheer orneriness of Paddy is a challenge that Mr Furlong rises to with absolute aplomb. Sheer talent.

Brava Ms. Hogan and Bravo Mr. Furlong.., a dream team for sure. Highly recommended.
