The cast features many old-school British actors and some cracking scenery-chewing performances in minor roles. My only criticism would be that the text is very much abridged and if you’re a big fan of the novel you will notice the loss.

A terrific adaptation for the radio, a brilliant cast pull you into a most perplexing mystery. A perfect companion to a leisurely drive or a little gardening.
The sound effects add to the sense of actually being there watching the whole story unfold.
Highly recommended to all all fans of classic crime

Beautifully dramatised. I’m very familiar with the story but if I weren’t I’d have appreciated longer. All too short!

If you're a fan of Lord Peter, these dramatisations are the must-have series. Over the years I've had them on audio tape, CD and now have them downloaded. They're a pleasure to listen to. The later books ready by Edward Petherbridge are extremely well read too - it's not hard to picture him as Lord Peter obviously, as he played him in the TV adaptation in the 80s. However, as far as a full cast option goes, these are brilliant.

You’ll learn quite a lot about bell - ringing in this fascinating story featuring Harriet Vane (now married to noble sleuth Lord Peter Wimsey) set in the fenland country

This is one of my favourite Lord Peter Wimsey stories and this was a very enjoyable performance, my only complaint is that if didn't last enough.

Well done BBC. This can not be bettered. Fantastic full cast who bring to life this excellent Dorothy L Sayers play. The cast and the soundtrack so realistic. This is what we want when we purchase a full cast production audiobook. I have the full set of these BBC Sayers and all of them are of this level of production. Please, let’s have more like this. Thank you! Just a shame we no longer have the wonderful character actor the charming Mr Ian Carmichael who for me is Lord Peter Wimsey.

I have revisited this story on Audible after hearing it a number of years ago on cassette. It was as thoroughly enjoyable as I remembered and I listened all through in one sitting whilst ironing, making that task easier to bear! I shall now be going on to the others with Ian Carmichael. He has such a rich and interesting voice, so we'll suited to the part of Lord Peter Wimsey
