I have loved Ellis Peter’s writings since teenage. There is a compassion in the stance that Cadfael takes that is compelling by it’s quiet bravery. In a world that is becoming more polarised it is good to read of an unlikely hero who sees all sides and the path of justice. Derek Jacobi’s interpretation of a character he played so brilliantly is wonderful. Thank you.

Just a few of the Ellis Peters gems, these stories come to life with the measured tones of Derek Jacobi. A collection to treasure, and to listen to again and again. Excellent!

As others have said, it's a shame these tales of Brother Cadfael have been abridged but they still retain the essence of the originals. Derek Jacoby is an excellent narrator and does a great job of bringing the characters to life. Stephen Thorne is my favourite Brother Cadfael, however.
