About this listen
Sequel to The Art of Breathing.
Family is not always defined by blood. It's defined by those who make us whole - those who make us who we are.
And here, at the end, Bear and Otter will be tested like they've never been before.
There's a knock at the door from a little girl who has nowhere else to go.
There's a phone ringing, bringing news they do not expect.
There's a brother returning home after learning how to stand on his own.
As these moments converge, all of their lives will change forever.
Beginning in Bear, Otter, and the Kid and continuing in Who We Are and The Art of Breathing, TJ Klune has told a saga of family and brotherhood, of love and sacrifice. In this final chapter, the events of the past pave the long and winding road toward a future no one could have imagined.

Never have I ever listened to a series of audiobooks that have such emotive power behind the authors words, that such a narrator could give such power to the authors written word... Until Now!!
This final instalment, albeit sad that no more will be written about the Thompson family, as usual, had me to tears of laughter, but more from joy and of course some of the sadness/longing for a dear friend/adoptive matriarch of Mrs Paquinn.
This series of books are ones that I will cherish forever, ones that will come out to play when the mood is right and I thank TJK for that.
This series is by far his best work with the works of Wolfsong etc.. following a close second.
As you may have read from my previous reviews of audiobooks 1&2, I have listened to all 4 over 4 days - I think this in itself says how addictive the storyline is, but the emphasis on:
“Family it’s not always defined by blood. It’s defined by those who make us whole - those who make us who we are“.
Never a truer word written!
I highly recommend this series of Bear, Otter & The Kid, you will definitely not be disappointed, and hopefully, you will see this series as I do and have the fond memories shared by the characters in the series 😊🥰
5🌟’s across the board, (again), from me and deservedly so 😁😁🥰🥰🥰😊
Beautiful, Wonderfully Beautiful!

When I first came across this series, and saw the title of the first book, I was “WTF? It must be play on gay stereotypes in a creepy cheese fest way....” HOWEVER, after starting it, I must admit that I have become thoroughly besotted with the characters. Reading these stories have been akin to a visit with old friends. I have even missed doing work, gym, and rescheduled second dates with hot guys to finish chapters.
I have spent much of the last year laughing and crying and rejoicing with these books, this series as well as the At First Sight series with which this is intertwined. Finishing this book has had a wonderfully cathartic release for me. I’m a scientist, engineer and researcher and I prefer logic & reason over emotional entanglement, therefore am unlikely to gush nonetheless, I must say that I have loved every moment.
I waited somewhat eagerly for the last book to arrive and TJ Klune has not disappointed. Rather more sedate and far less risqué than previous novels, I feel it was appropriately so. I think that the dampened salaciousness of this book, was necessary to develop the characters in a rich meaningful way in order draw the loose ends of the story lines to a natural close.
I highly recommend this book and the entire series in fact, (if you haven’t read any of the books yet!)
I can’t believe it’s over!
