What did you like best about this story?

The concentration on the characters and the realism of them.

Any additional comments?

I like the format of each book which jumps back and forth between two main characters. Upon reading he book description on Audible I thought there might be a risk that the story would be boring (I'm thinking of something like The Passage which I had to return as it wasn't going anywhere after hours and hours of listening). But even at the start of each story, there is something interesting about the lives of each character.

I also like how the series completely managed to surprise me (I'm specifically thinking about the bit immediately following where the radio presenter tells people that they may want to sit down - I didn't see that coming at all), which is rare these days.

Wasn't Sure I'd Like It, Glad I Got It

This series has entertained me for weeks! twists and turns and extremely imaginatively written. Brilliant!

Brilliant! a long and epic tale over 3 books.

The story is great, really good but the monotone, dreary and dull voice of the narrator made it really difficult to persevere to the end. Turned what could have been a great listen into a hard slog.

Great story but....

Excellent! Highly recommend, my 1st read of the author and it won’t be the last! Ray Chase is as good as ever!

first tip. play the book at 1.3x speed or more otherwise the narrator will drive you mad.
the prequel is a stand alone so far and pretty good.
if you fancy an alternative zombie like alien invasion this book will suit.

not really what I expected. post apocalypse story

At first slightly sceptical, I enjoyed this series a lot, listening to one after another. Try different but interesting characters both in each book and between the books, with some appearing again in a later book tying the stories together well. If you’re into sci-fy of the more relaxed and Armageddon type stuff, give it a go

Captivating and enjoyable characters

Good books once you get into it. Bit over acted in book one but gets better. story line is ok book one and two are the better of the three.

Good

great characters brilliant narration plot was a wee bit predictable but the story held together very well. I wonder if there's a twist to come wih this corona virus. Looking forward to the next book.

not quite Covid-19

I enjoyed the first section, the book is not broken into sections which makes it hard to know where you are in the individual book.

The narrator has had a lot of stick but I quite enjoyed his voice my only concern was the lack of diversity in the characters speech which made knowing who was talking a little tricky at time.

Definitely worth a read/listen
