About this listen

WE ALL NEED A PURPOSE IN LIFE. ONE MAN ONLY FINDS HIS IN DEATH.

"A stellar follow-up that's every bit as compelling as the first title in the series."

Gina Jackson’s family has grown smaller in recent years. First, she lost her grandmother, then two years ago she lost her beloved grandfather. Now, the only person Gina truly cares about is her mother, Helen.

Unfortunately, neither woman saw the smooth New Yorker, Bruce Franklin, coming. Neither had a clue about Franklin’s true motives but both will pay a price for his actions, although in different ways.

With her mother distraught, Gina decides she has no choice but to right a wrong. A foolhardy trip to New York ensues, but Gina quickly learns that the Big Apple is an unforgiving city — her confidence tested to the limit within the first twenty-four hours. Then, in one moment, everything changes when Gina crosses paths with a mysterious Londoner by the name of Clement — a man as big as he is brash.

The fiercely independent Gina is then presented with a choice. Should she continue the search for Bruce Franklin alone, or would recruiting an ally prove a wise move? The first option seems rash, the second a gamble. All Gina knows is that she simply has to find Franklin.

Teaming up with a mildly unhinged man mountain from Camden might be a gamble, but with high risk comes high reward … or so Gina hopes.

I have binged all 6 Clement audiobooks and thoroughly enjoyed every one . The characters and stories are wonderful in each one. Please let Clement have At least one more adventure.

Another amazing story

Excellent story (as usual) and the narration was perfect. Initially I wasn’t sure about Clement’s voice, but I quickly found it to be a great fit.

Bleedin’ Brilliant

The man is back. Great story. Really well narrated. Top stars as per. KAP is a great author. Bring on the next asap. I listened to every KAP book. Non have disappointed, every book is brilliant in its own way.
Netflix, amazon etc, should be looking at this author. Clem would make an amazing TV character.

I was gutted when the last series ended. So glad Clem is back. I’ve loved the first two books in this Angel of Camden series, and can’t wait for the next.

Another cracking Clem story

This was a cracking, fun story , but Clement is getting a bit too savvy. To anyone who picks it up as a standalone, I urge you, start with “Who sent Clement “

Great Characters as usual.

At the end of Keith Pearson's latest book (which I had on pre-order for months before it dropped into my audible library) the narrator, Liz Brice, reads a note from the author asking for a review. Normally, I would ignore such a request, but in this case I am compelled to add my five star review, because this brilliant novel - and indeed all Keith Pearson's other books - deserves to be read more widely.

Readers who have read any of the previous books featuring the enormous, tough, but kind hearted throwback from the mid 20th Century will know Clement's backstory and the reason why he is a unique man out of time, who is compelled to help those in desperate need. In this book, there is very little by way of explanation although it really wouldn't matter much if this is the first Clement book you read.

The author is a master of characterisation. We do care about the characters in the book. We empathise with Gina and her mother and share their anger at the betrayal and the damage to their family.

Please read this book. I promise you will not regret it. Audible gives you the opportunity to order a book and return it if you don't like it, so give it a shot. I guarantee that if you do, you will not be sending this one back. You will read it to the end (probably as I did, cancelling an appointment because reading its conclusion trumped my previous arrangements) and then if you are not already a KP nut, you will immediately order all his earlier books and binge on them. FWIW, I started a few years ago with his book 'The1986 Fix', a wonderful time travel novel, and since then every new Keith Pearson novel has been pre-ordered. He really is that good.

Last point - why hasn't Clement been picked up by Netflix, Amazon Prime etc? Surely it's only a matter of time.

Review as requested - but it's a pleasure!

I love this author, and in particular this character! I can highly recommend starting with Who Sent Clement and am prepared to guarantee that, if you enjoy that tale, you will be as pleased about Keith’s decision to continue writing about Clement as I was.Not sure why we have two different series with this lead character , rather than a continuation of the first - but I only care because I would hate anyone to miss part of the story due to navigation errors. If I had one wish, it would be that we could have one narrator to take us on the full Clement journey. This latest book had excellent narration (most of the series do) but it wasn’t as I hoped. I think I fell for the character whilst reading book 1 (series 1) and so I would naturally prefer some continuity of that specific version of the man himself in all subsequent novels. Keep the stories coming Keith!

Huge Clement fan here!

Yet again, an extremely engaging and entertaining book from a master of this genre - looking forward to the next one, as always

The brilliance never ends

On the whole it's a good read, the story is ok and you kind of get caught up in it, though it's no page turner. The performance was good but Clem sounded variable to me, sometimes bordering on a caricature. Didn't enjoy this one as much as the others I've read, still worth a read though.

Good story, not very believable
