About this listen

Twenty-two-year-old Annie Schrijver works in the picturesque Albert Cuyp flower market. But then she goes missing, only to be found barely alive, tied to a stone angel in a graveyard. But Annie seems to have been the lucky one, as a body is found nearby.

Detective Pieter Vos knows that if he is to outwit the murderer, he will need to employ everything he has to avert a greater tragedy.

What does Saul Reichlin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

I really love this series I enjoy the characters especially Laura Bakker she works so well with Pieter Voss I like that its in Amsterdam with the bikes and trams and canals, I enjoy the Rome series but this one even more so. And of course with one of the best narrators out there it makes a great team Hewson and Reichlin, can't wait until the next book is written and released.

Very believable story, with lots of fast paced action among realistic emotions. I would love to read more by this author. Very well narrated.

despite a number of very standard elements, a good thrilling listen, against a convincing Dutch background. well performed with a well defined array of characters and a decent plot. most enjoyable in its own grim way.

good procedural noir

When I first started listening to this I thought it was slightly derivative of silence of the lambs, and indeed in some ways it was. However I got into it and it was very well read.

The characters were sympathetic and I enjoyed the side stories, especially the one about the Syrian refugees. It’s certainly made me want to keep listening and I would recommend it although it ended up being very complex by the end and I had to listen to you in a couple of times to figure out exactly what was going on.

Sleep Baby Sleep was an enjoyable listen

A compelling story which had me finding excuses to listen. I though the narrator was great too. If you enjoyed the earlier books in the series then you’ll enjoy this too!

Another great listen in this series!
