Ahhhh I love this one!! It's very on point of a Cinderella retelling, 2 step sisters (who are more than friends 👀) and an evil step mother who tries to sell Birdie at the Black Rose Auction!
I love how Alaric swoops in to save the day. He's older than the girls but this one is hot AF 🔥🔥🔥
I absolutely love the audio for this one! I did audio/e-book parallel read and I just love this kind of reading experience 😍

Shattered Innocence is the fifth book in the Black Rose Auction series. This series is all interconnected standalones. This book is an interesting spin to the classic Cinderella tale. This version is a bit darker and spicier. Birdie is our “Cinderella” in this version. Violet is one of her stepsisters. Violet is the only person that loves Birdie. She is willing to do what it takes to save Birdie from her evil mother. Birdie’s stepmother has placed her up for auction. Violet seeks help from Alaric, her ex-lover. These three stay together out of choice over necessity. This is a MFF dark romance.
Angelina Rocca, Michelle Sparks, and Stephen Borne did a fantastic job narrating this book.

Awesome Story & Listen🎧 Gripping & Smoking❤️Hot!
Sara Cate welcomes you to the “Black Rose Auction” series, a multi-author series, with her own unique retelling and smoking hot remix of the classic fairytale Cinderella. An enthralling tale filled with angst, heat, and desire, with some twists and turns that will surprise and astound you. Birdie’s stepmother and stepsister treat her like trash and her only out is to agree to be auctioned off at the Black Rose auction to the highest bidder who agrees to take her as his wife. Her only saving grace in that house was her other stepsister, Violet, who comes up with a plan to save Birdie by getting billionaire Alaric Stone to bid on her, but he is not interested in marriage or keen on the idea of a forever relationship. But Birdie’s stepmother was more malicious than expected, and then Violet’s plan goes awry when Alaric has a change of heart. Sara Cate’s exceptional writing, plot, world-building, and character development make this story captivating and unforgettable. Thanks for another amazing story and wild and steamy, emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 Stephen Borne, Michelle Sparks, and Angelina Rocca were the perfect cast to bring these characters to life, humanizing them, and giving each a voice that is fitting. I loved how they took their roles and owned them, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters would sound. They set the right tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These three made a great narration team, with voices and talent that complimented each other and a performance that takes the already amazing story to another level. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to.
