About this listen
The mission failed but hope is not lost....
The Reclaimer's attack on the Gateway didn't go as planned, but a dying man's words sparked a revolution.
Alec receives a message from the Barony, a group in the UK, letting them know they have allies around the world.
Dex is still on the other side of the Occupation, but he knows he'll have to make a move soon.
Lina and Monet are sent on a mission to Shanghai to stop the production of a device keeping the aliens alive in our atmosphere.
Cole and Soares head out with a one way-ticket through a Gateway, in an attempt to permanently close them.
Reclamation pits our humanity against the dreaded Overseers, in a world where only one of them can survive.
Reclamation is the final book in the sweeping post-invasion series, Rise, by Devon C. Ford, the author of After It Happened, and Nathan Hystad, the author of The Survivors.

DEVON C FORD DOES IT AGAIN

Why the aliens were able to massacre humans at full strength but the resistance seemed to be able to fight them with human weapons. Why were the twins important really, they would have been dropped from the resistance at the first opportunity. Nothing wrong with the writing or narration, probably just the plot for me which has been done far better elsewhere.
Entirely forgettable

The pacing is weird: from a gruesome battle scene to humorous banter in to quick a time.
Also, when people read military sci fi, they are looking for details on technology and strategy and so on. In this book, an entire world is added to the USA, and this entire thing gets wrapped up in a rushing manner.
Altogether too much banter and constant nerdgasming references to start wars and start trek.
Struggled to finish

The main premise of an alien invasion enslaving humanity for decades did have me hooked, however the execution was poor.
(I’m being vague here to prevent spoilers) but the whole driving force of how the uprising comes about is just terrible - people are obviously happy to see their nearest & dearest killed/worked to death but a handful of people and their fate manage to pull on the heartstrings so much that the world finally says “no”
The protagonists were all very one dimensional and I didn’t care for any of their fates. The only reason I stayed for the full trilogy was for my loyalty to the author.
Not his best work
