About this listen

Few are invited. Fewer survive. Join the elite at Space Academy and fulfill your destiny today!

Separated at birth, orphaned twins Peyton and Jai Foster’s lives couldn’t be more different. Raised by a billionaire, Peyton Foster has been taught that anything other than first place is failure. With her adoptive family’s name dangled like a carrot, she’ll need to not only get accepted to Space Academy but finish at the top of her class.

Raised in a group shelter one step from the streets, Jai Foster has earned every meal he’s ever eaten. Discovering early that his penchant for technology gave him an undeniable advantage, Jai manages to earn a spot to the academy with hopes of securing a future better than as some low-level corporate cog.

When fellow cadets are callously murdered for failing training exercises, the orphaned twins discover that the corporations controlling the solar system are far more sinister than they could’ve ever imagined. When terrorist attacks leave millions dead, academy’s cadets are drafted to fight the latest corporate war.

But what happens when the twins discover that the terrorist enemy they’re fighting isn’t the real enemy? Will a pair of orphans follow the orders of an immoral corporation, or will they find that fighting against tyranny is worth everything?

Excellent

Excellent story I thoroughly enjoyed. Great narration as usual by Emily Woo Zeller and quite impressed by Scott Aiello.

Good Storyline

An interesting storyline needs characters who fulfil the role the writer wants. Rebel's Call has both and after a short time growing accustomed to two narrators, the whole process settles nicely down and works. I admit I was hesitant at first because the idea of two narrators could easily have lost my attention if I hadn't taken to either of them or even both. Fortunately, the narrators know their business and performed really well. This could be a massive story with lots of angles and the more I heard the more I wanted to know. I already purchased the second book and hope it continues in the same vein. I doubt anyone who enjoys this type of tale will be disappointed by Rebel's Call and am happy to recommend it.

I enjoyed it

I really enjoyed this and will get the 2nd book. You kinda pick up on the “bad guys” early on but I didn’t see why they were until later on. It’s one of those books that you kinda guess at what’s coming but you don’t quite know why.

Great book

I really liked this space opera novel. It was brilliantly narrated, and the ending was unexpected. I am looking forward to the next book. It's a book that I must recommend.

Good but difficult

The general story is great. The downside is that every antagonist is a one dimential bully. It would be nice to have some more complex characters.
