About this listen
My boss Elliot Levy is intolerable, and I tell him so every day…
...in the little notes I write and then hide in the back of my desk.
I can't exactly say to his face that I'm convinced he's a cyborg, considering I'm about to become a single mother, and I really need to keep my job as his assistant.
Elliot never looks at me, so he doesn't even notice I'm pregnant until I'm seven months along. The first thing he asks is if I'm planning to come back to work once I have the baby.
Not unexpected. What is unexpected is Elliot coming to my rescue when I need a place to stay after my daughter is born. While living with him, I get to see a whole other side of him…especially when he walks around his house without a shirt on—which he does all the time.
I shouldn't look, but I can't help it. He's gorgeous in a suit, but out of one? Devastating.
Elliot shows me he isn't the heartless robot I once thought. It's still terrifying to take a chance on him, even when he holds my baby like she's precious to him, and he touches me like he's been longing to for ages.
Now that he has me, he isn't letting me go without a fight.
And Elliot Levy didn't get where he is in business without learning a few underhanded tricks. What will he do to keep me? To keep us?
P.S. I think I'm falling for you.

love how it didn't have a 3rd act breakup like all other romances, I know she moved out, but it wasn't a break up. loved it. my new favourite author 😍

Loved this
This was a great listen with twists and turns. And how life can be so down then things look up but are they too good to be true?

Julia never disappoints
Elliot Levy, what can I say, he is everything I hoped for and more.
He is so invested in his work he has no time for romance. He goes through personal assistants quicker than most of us blow through a pair of tights, he is a robot for his work.
Catherine is in over her head with a house that needs a lot of work. Coupled with a friend who betrays her and an unexpected pregnancy she is desperate and excepts a job as Elliot's assistant even though she isn't strictly qualified, oh and she may have forgotten to mention one or two important facts.
The two manage to work along side each other and as time goes on Catherine starts to see the side to Elliot few other see. He has a soft, kind and relentless when it comes to breaking down Catherine's stubborn walls and get this strong independent woman to accept his help.
Turns out Eliot Levy may just be a marshmallow in a suit who loves Catherine and her daughter Joey, she just needs to lower her walls and let him into her life.
Elliot and Catherine are my new favourite, The Harder They Fall Couple. I loved Luca and Weston but Elliot melted the brick where my heart should live. I can't recommend this series enough, dive in you will love them all. I can't wait to see if Miles will get his own book. That boy is trouble with a capital T.
As always this is a great read but the audio version brings the characters to life so much better than they are in my head.

Loved it!
Loved the book but the audible made it soooo much better! Elliot and Catherine’s love story was amazing and I’m sorry but felt like Miles stole the show with his performance - can’t wait for his book to come out

Summary
Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 3.5/5
Spicy rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ 3/5
Fluff rating: 💖💖💖 3.5/5
Whilst it was a little cheesy and had a few cringey moments this book was sweet, fluffy and spicy which definitely made it enjoyable. It was a great palate cleanser read.
I think the characters and their pasts could’ve been fleshed out more personally but enjoyable nonetheless for a quick easy read.

A fun lighthearted read
Such a sweet and easy read. Catherine our FMC finds herself unexpectedly pregnant after a ONS with her friend Liam, they also happen to be trying to flip a house together but funds are tight so she finds herself in need of a job. Enter Elliot our MMC the CEO of his own company who needs a new assistant and decides Catherine is the one for the job. Fast forward a few months of her working for Elliot and them forming a friendship of sorts and a heavily pregnant Catherine is abandoned by Liam with debt up to her eyeballs and a house falling down around her and the arrival of her daughter imminent. After her daughter arrives and Elliot realises the bad situation mum & baby are in he immediately steps up and moves them in with him and it's from there that we get to see the slow development of him falling for Catherine and her baby girl Josephine.
This gave me all the warm fuzzy feelings, it was a low angst cutesy read that demonstrated good communication between the MCs for the most part, what a supportive partner should look like and I really enjoyed how the relationship between them developed. The scenes with Elliot and the baby were adorable and I really liked the side characters, this is the first book of this series I have read as its the one my mood reading self was in the mood for, I'm aware that the previous two books are some of the side characters stories but the fact I haven't read them yet made no difference to my enjoyment of this story. It can be read as a standalone, but I will definitely be reading the others when the mood strikes. The banter & spice was good, I wish more had been done with the postscript bit within the story as it would've been really cute to have had more of that. Overall a lighthearted enjoyable read. 🌶🌶
