About this listen

Just as Midshipman Alexis Carew thinks she's found a place in the Royal Navy, she's transferred aboard H.M.S. Hermione. Her captain is a Tartar, liberal with the cat, who thinks girls have no place aboard ship. The other midshipmen in the berth are no better and the only advice she's offered is to keep her head down and mouth shut - things Alexis is rarely able to do.

Any additional comments?

Having been a fan of historical novels set in Nelson time this series has been extremely well created to follow life as it was at sea in the early 1800's transposed into a space faring society. Do not be put off by the thought of sailing ships in space as it has been very well constructed and abely read by the narrator. I have greatly enjoyed the first two books in the series which I listened to consecutively. I look forward to the next two novels in the series and hope that the author will continue to expand the series in the future. I am now listening to all the Richard Bolitho novels by Alexander Kent for the fourth time and I do Hope that this new space opera series carries on and on and on. Well done keep writing please
an avid fan.
