About this listen

#1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts surpasses herself once again, with a novel as sweeping and extraordinary as the Montana sky itself....

When Jack Mercy died, he left behind a ranch worth nearly twenty million dollars. Now his three daughters - each born of a different mother, and each unknown by the others - are gathered to hear the reading of the will. But the women are shocked to learn that before any of them can inherit, they must live together on the ranch for one year.

For Tess, a screenwriter who just wants to collect her cash and get back to Hollywood, it’s a nightmare. For Lily, on the run from her abusive ex-husband, it’s a refuge. And for Willa - who grew up on the ranch - it’s an intrusion into her rightful home.

They are sisters...and strangers. Now they face a challenge: to put their bitterness aside and live like a family. To protect each other from danger - and unite against an enemy who threatens to destroy them all...

Critic reviews

"Roberts balances the tension and sometimes gruesome action with three romances, crackling dialogue and a snappy infusion of humor." ( Publishers Weekly)
"All six of the major characters are wonderfully written, with just the right touch of genuineness, warmth, and distinctiveness to make readers emotionally invest in their stories." ( Library Journal)

I loved this book the story line was great, it was a very strong story with some scenes that really caused me to suck in a breath, reading the cruelty that was inflicted on not only animals but on other human beings but three sisters found each other and a strength they never new they had.

Brilliant

A great story which includes the right balance of romance, murder and twists. Keeps you guessing and entertained. Each of the main characters have their share of romance, with their stories reflecting their different personalities. Steamy bedroom scenes add a nice but if spuce. I found Lilly to be too sugar sweet but Tess's humour more than made up for this. Loved the humour which balanced with the gore.
Again the descriptive narrative makes visiting Montana a must and helps you to immerse yourself in the story.
Erika's performance is a credit to her - she varies the accents and voices to great affect. Loved the slow delivery of Ben's character which I think she nailed perfectly.
Give the book a go, I think you will enjoy!

What made the experience of listening to Montana Sky the most enjoyable?

It was narrated very well. Sometimes you wondered if their wasn't more than one person speaking.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Montana Sky?

Thinking you knew who did it, then realising you didn't.

What about Erika Leigh’s performance did you like?

Loved it, that was most enjoyable. The different voices was amazing

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Willa thought her brother was going to die, and also when he thought he might loose Lilly.

Any additional comments?

Nora Roberts is amazing. The stories are very involved and I can say I have loved everyone of hers I have read. This one you feel for all three sisters and the men who fall for them. You knew one of them wouldn't go back, but you are still on the edge of your sit wondering. And putting that extra story in to get you even more hooked. you want to get to the end but then again you just don't !!!!

Easy to get through, made me smile at the relationships, maybe a bit predictable in places if I'm being critical. Good sexy parts, perfect holiday read.

Easy, enjoyable, sexy in places, good twist.

This story was a bit of a change for me I don't usually read cowboy stories. This was an excellent story well read and performed. I never guessed who the bad guy was and that makes a good book, there's nothing worse then getting half a dozen chapters in and knowing who the bad guy is. Great story I would highly recommend it.

Excellent

I usually enjoy Nora Roberts books, they’re an easy listen when walking the dogs and you don’t have to concentrate too hard. I just wish it had been mentioned in the blurb, that there was animal torture referenced throughout the book, I wouldn’t have bought it. Although the story was a good concept, this aspect of it spoiled my enjoyment.

Not one for animal lovers!
