About this listen

Toby and Graham knock it out of the park again in a thrilling story of titan on titan action. The camp over the topness and galactic complexity of 40k is on full force, I wouldn't recommend it as a introduction but definitely a must listen.

Quite a slow start. The middle was a little better but still not up to Graham's usual standard. Perhaps I'm just not super excited about mechanicum stories! That said, the last quarter of the book was very good and really built tension and excitement!

Not at all being familiar with the Mechanicus lore, it took me a little while to get into/get my head around...however it was totally worth it. Great story and some key story points to the heresy proper.

Surprisingly the best parts of the book were how human the main characters felt.

Best part of the 30k books for me has always been showing how so many of the best parts of the imperium were burnt out by 40k times.

I'm not much for the Mechanicum but I did like this book. Really compelling story and shows off the origins of the faction and explains the split really well. love the action between Knights and Titans.

Fantastic book, the best from the first 9 so far.
Great story and gripping from the start.
The Horus Heresy has been a little hit and miss, with the performance letting down a couple of books. The stories are still the strong point.
This story narreted by Toby Longworth adds an extra layer to the set so far.

the best novel so far in the horus heresy, it feels very different from the previous 8 books but it's a welcome change. to see the birth and growth of the mechanicus and the religion they house is hoth mystical and anxiety driving. a rollercoaster ride throughout. highly recommend to any reader.
