About this listen
In the grim nightmare future of the 41st millennium, the witch-hunting zealots of the the Sisters of Battle stand between humanity and damnation. From the elite Seraphim warriors to the berserk Sisters Repentia, they are the strong arm of the Ecclesiarchy and the brutal hammer of witches.
When dangerous psychic heretic Torris Vaun escapes from her custody, Seraphim Miriya is disgraced in the eyes of her fellow sisters and superiors. Following Vaun's trail to the planet Neva, Miriya takes her sisters in pursuit and, along with Hospitalier Sister Verity, starts her investigations.
When they uncover a terrifying plot that could threaten the future of the Imperium, is Miriya's and Verity's faith strong enough for them to triumph?

Even male characters sound rugged and masculine enough, which unfortunately some female narrators can't pull off.
I will definitely be listening to the sequel.
Great novel for Sororitas fans

While I do have issues with some of the tropes the story leans on in regards to the villains, these can be easily forgiven as Emma Gregory is fantastic in every role. What would normally be an obnoxious monologue by the villain is saved by her performance giving personality and grandeur to almost every scene. The one character she couldn't save though is Sister Verity.
Sister Veritys naivety and whining bring every scene she's in to a crushing stop. While not a hardened battle Sister it's mentioned that she has still witnessed the horrors of war and you would think she would be able to handle herself, but every time she needs to show a semblance of competence she fails. She adds almost nothing to the plot other than to be a damsel in distress and in a story full of hardened sisters it's jarring and annoying.

Emma Gregorys narration is by far the best and she is rapidly becoming one of my favourite narrators of any BL book
