About this listen

As a 17-year-old virgin working...for Virgin, Joel Dommett has grand ambitions. Firstly, he is going to swap suburbia for the bright lights of showbiz. Secondly, he is going to find 'the one' - and sets himself the very achievable target of finding her in the first 50 people he's definitely going to sleep with.

What follows is a series of disastrous romantic encounters, including carpets mistaken for toilets, futile grand gestures and the catfishing to end all catfishing.

Featuring genuine teenage diary entries and told in Joel's trademark self-deprecating style, this is the brilliant first book from the UK's most exciting comedian.

Fun and lighthearted, although he often went into too much detail. In addition, at one point he texted Lily, “hey H”, so maybe further proof reading required…

Enjoyable, entertaining

lovely story. made me laugh out loud in my car to my own embarrassment. I enjoyed tales of Joel's life and a heart warming link that brought it all together.

It has a nice, easy going delivery. Not laugh out loud, more a smile now and then.
His timelines got me confused at times.
Many wonder if he is gay or bi, I am sure he is aware, so he seems to state his heterosexuality often. Listing conquests.
That only serves to make me wonder ...
But, all that aside, a nice listen well read.
