About this listen
Jane Eyre remains a classic of 19th-century English literature and is the most famous and influential novel by Charlotte Bronte.
Published in 1847, one of the most popular of all English novels, the story tells of the rise of a poor orphan girl against overwhelming odds. It is a work of fiction with memorable characters and vivid scenes exploring themes that have as much relevance today as in the time it was written.
British novelist Charlotte Bronte (1816 - 1855) was the eldest of the three famous Bronte sisters whose novels have become standards of English literature.

The description in this novel is lifelike, fascinating and makes you feel all the details like you are at the present living it. The only bit I disliked that as much as Jane was abused and maltreated by the Reeds family, she did hate/dislike her auntie; however, we she grew older, she tolerated the abuse and the condescending treatment from her cousin and the person she loved…and in the end she married him despite the fact he was cold, condescending, abusive, secretive and most of all 20 years older than her!
Also, it is a bit unrealistic that during her life, up until she married when she was 20 year old, she has never encountered male presence to fall in love with or to befriend… only her cousin and Mr Rochester! This part does not bother me much as the part mentioned above.
