About this listen

The apocalypse is coming, but only a lucky—or perhaps unlucky—few know.

Silas is inducted into the System, becoming the last in a long line of Earth's "forerunners." The rewards are great, but the danger is greater. We are not alone in the universe. The fate of five worlds hangs on how their forerunners perform.

Will Silas have what it takes to win Earth a place in the multiverse? Or will Earth become another mining world stripped of all resources and left a barren husk floating in the cosmos?

A system-enforced secret, a deadly challenge, and only a year to go. The countdown begins now!

it has a bit confusing start but overall it is a good starting setup for a litrpg. I enjoyed it and will continue the series. I think some people got hang ups with the mc persona but I think the idea is to convey how the system is changing him and affecting him as a person. the powers and staging for different fights is good and escales quite well 👌. any ways I hope you enjoy it too 😀

give it a chance.

This is a great twist on the idea of earth being enrolled into the multiverse, with a few “forerunners” leading the way before the rest of the world, fighting for their place.

It has good pacing, lots of action, a relatable MC, and those sweet sweet stats we all love, but put in their own chapters so they can be skipped if you want.

Add to that Sean dropping both pop culture references and enough references to other LITRPG books to make it meta without being cringe, and you have a great start to what I hope will be an epic series.

Lastly, it’s read by the one and only Travis Baldree, so what’s not to love?

A great start to an earth apocalypse LITRPG

Good book. I don’t know about mc being a support but I hope that changes.

I grinned he groaned

Everything is standard Lit-RPG story with some few differences. 1 being the obvious one where the mc is one of the few people who are selected and the whole disaster with system and everything hasn't happened yet.

I also love the way the author added the stat sheets in a different chapter which was a great idea. I do love stats sheet in the beginning but sometimes it feels like the stats just keep popping up too frequently. The way the author did it allows me to go through it once and skip when not necessary but if I do wanna look at it I can fall back to the specific chapter which tell me about it without looking tio far.

Author is a genius for separating the stat data

I didn't really know what to expect from this book, but I enjoyed it immensely. The pacing was great, the main character has (what i would judge) as a very realistic reaction to circumstances and the author uses the unique perspective to give great examples of their moral dilemma. This helps you to get to know them a lot better a lot sooner and avoid the usual exposition - more in the vein of "show" not "tell".

Very much enjoyed

A real surprise - thoroughly enjoyed !

A great story and narration I just hope the following books do not disappoint like many of this genre tend to. Where the main characters devolve into emotional wrecks, become intellectually bankrupt and end up psychological broken. Where the storyline is replaced by senseless violence with the characters staggeringg from one near death crisis to another with any storyline going by the wayside.

Great storyline and narration BUT

From start to finish it was amazingly crafted. It spoke to me as a person and give me the fantasy of playing DnD along with elements of the video games. To have all this was amazing, the story was great, the levelling system and everything else wasn’t complicated at all which is a nice change.

The whole story

Im focused on detail - a time of 29 minutes for 10km would put you in the top 700 worldwide of all time. The coach would be utterly amazed. Mid 30s would make you a good college track runner get the small things right. Otherwise i really enjoyed.

Nice Litrpg works well

Everything I hoped it would be - a relatable and interesting MC who is flawed but not too hard or soft in their thinking. Very interesting world and I can’t wait to see how things progress.

Fantastic

I have to say I like the main character; I like the way they have structured this world, and it was very easy to get into this and simply enjoy it. Nothing felt egregiously overpowered, at least within the boundaries of this kind of work, and I found myself rooting for Silas pretty quickly. Travis once again prove he's an amazing narrator

A solid addition to LitRPGs
