About this listen

They have a dangerous past. They just haven't lived it yet.

"We broke something. How do you break time? Can something so bad happen that you fracture the world?"

Benjamin Travers has been electrocuted. What's worse, he and his friends have woken up in the 1980s. As the friends search for a way home, they realize they're not alone. There are other time travelers, and some of them are turning up dead.

When Ben meets an enigmatic scientist and his charming, time-traveling daughter, salvation seems at hand, but escaping the dangers of the past may lead to a deadly future.

If he hopes to save his friends, Ben must learn to master space and time, and survive a journey where past and future violently collide.

Start listening to your adventure today, because yesterday may be too late.

An Epic Opener

I read this originally shortly after it came out and Nathan Van Coops has been one of my favourite authors since. I have read everything he has published and loved all of it.

Hearing the story that started it all again was fantastic, I love the characters and the world that they live in. It's fantastic to discover how time travel works and how they can utilise their abilities along with them. Having read the rest of the ITLT series already I know it continues to develop brilliantly and I can't wait to enjoy those again too!

Paused sentences

I love a time travel yarn, and when set in the 80's it has the perfect frame for me. But not this one. The narrator pauses after each sentence he reads and it just becomes laborious to listen to. I found the plot slow at times as the writer explains everything in the greatest of detail ie if the hero has a drink of tea that's enough, there is no need to hear them make the tea, where the leaves are sourced and the cow's heritage for the milk used. It's a reasonable story however it was only because I had paid for it that I listened to its conclusion. I am glad it's over. If you want a funny and awesomely written 80's time travel story get Do they know it's Christmas yet by James Crookes, it's so funny and brilliant.
