Saul Bellow ist mit seinem Roman "Herzog" ein vielgestaltiges Meisterwerk der Erzählkunst gelungen. Für seine Arbeit wurde der Autor mehrfach ausgezeichnet, 1976 schließlich auch mit dem Literaturnobelpreis.
