About this listen

The final novel of the Forerunner Saga trilogy by science-fiction legend Greg Bear - set in the Halo universe and based on the New York Times best-selling video game series!

One hundred thousand years ago, Chaos rules the final days of the Forerunner empire. The Flood - a horrifying, shape-changing, and unstoppable parasite - has arrived in force, aided by unexpected allies, and internal strife has desperately weakened Forerunner defenses.

Facing the imminent collapse of their civilization, the Forerunners known as the Ur-Didact and the Librarian reveal what they know about the relationship between the long-vanished race of the Precursors and the Flood. While the Precursors created many technological species, including those of the Forerunners and humanity itself, the roots of the Flood may be found in an act of enormous barbarity, carried out beyond our galaxy 10 million years before. Because of that savagery, a greater evil looms.

Only the Ur-Didact and the Librarian - husband and wife pushed into desperate conflict - hold the keys to a solution. As they face the consequences of a mythic tragedy, one of them must now commit the greatest atrocity of all time - a shocking act designed to prevent an insane abomination from dominating the entire galaxy....

Three-quarters way through the book, the book just finishes, leaving so many questions.

LIKE, did they use it, did there enemy win, are they all dead or not, WHAT!

The book leaves you thinking about the middle and ending, because theres so many questions?

Amazing

Wow

Please never let halo interns of additional lore ever die. Great listen. The plot, how it connects I have no words to how it makes me smile to explore the lore prior to the actual halo timeline. 5/5

Amazing!

What an end to a complex, diverse and ancient history of the Forerunners. This was the best in the series so far. The performance was hard to grasp at first but fit so perfectly to the story. Feel almost completely satisfied and feel I finally understand what happened to those mysterious people who have been a central role to my favourite game series for decades!

the connected details

If you wanna know the background story of Halo, you will get your amusement. Iv was right away back into my childhood sphere. The details that are connected throughout the these three stories, that will come to a conclusion in Silentium is mindblowing. Furthermore the kickstarter of the events of humanity and Master Chief in special. Go listen and enjoy! 117
